Chapter 162: The First Submission
As this punch was thrown, Chu Yang's body was actually lifted by the force of the punch, soaring into the air, and suddenly slashing out a leg, followed by a flurry of moves.
Chu Yang's power was naturally much lower than theirs; but precisely because of this, Ji Mo and the others could clearly see Chu Yang's power level due to their higher cultivation levels.
What shocked them was that after only three moves, both his elemental force and physical state had simultaneously reached a state of exhaustion!
Chu Yang did not pause, insisting on continuing to throw punches, each punch imbued with all of his energy and spirit...
The force of his punches gradually weakened, becoming silent; then, without sound, he continued to throw another thirty or forty punches, maintaining a meticulous form. His heavy breathing made those who heard it worry that he might burst his lungs or even cough them out at any moment!
After thirty or forty punches, suddenly a weak "whoosh" sound was heard from one of his punches!
"He's broken through his limits!" Ji Mo and the others exclaimed in unison, wide-eyed. No one understood this feeling better than them; it was akin to a rebirth after a breakdown, like a phoenix rising from the ashes, instantly becoming a Buddha!
The wind from Chu Yang's punches gradually became audible, slowly intensifying, surpassing the strength of his previous punches at their peak. Then, the sound slowly disappeared, and although his movements remained serious, they had also become feeble...
"Another limit!" Ji Mo and Dong Wushang exchanged horrified glances.
Chu Yang was still in motion, not stopping. This time, his breathing was even more labored, the veins on his temples pulsing as if they would burst through the skin, his face flushed like blood.
Slowly, with a gust of wind, Ji Mo and the others were astonished: he had broken through again!
Repeatedly, Chu Yang broke through three times in a row. After the last breakthrough, he gradually relaxed his body, calmed his breathing, and stood firmly in the middle of the area.
Gu Duxing and the others clearly observed the sweat pouring out from his scalp, forehead, face, and hands, soaking his chest and back, while large beads of sweat rapidly converged into streams, flowing to the ground; slowly, the ground beneath Chu Yang began to expand outward, gradually forming a small puddle...
After standing for a moment, Chu Yang opened his eyes, shook his head, and smiled, "I actually didn't break through."
Ji Mo and the others simultaneously fainted!
In less than half an hour, he had broken through his limits three times! What an astonishing feat, and this guy still wore a look of frustration saying, "No breakthrough!"
What was he thinking about breaking through?
During that half-hour, they also pushed themselves to their limits; but they knew full well that their breakthroughs were forced. Meanwhile, Chu Yang's breakthroughs were a result of him pushing himself.
How could they not understand the difference between forcing oneself and being forced by others?
"Boss... Boss!" Ji Mo shouted excitedly, "Boss, how did you do it?"
Rocky Luo and the other three looked at Chu Yang with intense gazes.
"It's simple," Chu Yang said with an easy smile. "Before I practice each time, I think about the corpses lying in the martial arts world, the severed limbs in the wilderness; I remind myself that if I can't break through today, then tomorrow, I might very well be one of those, lying on the ground and rotting."
"I don't want to lie on the ground and rot without any awareness!" Chu Yang replied calmly with a smile. "So I can only break through."
The reasoning was simple and clear, yet Ji Mo and the others fell silent. This kind of self-imposition was too cruel and harsh...
"A man has to be a bit harsh on himself," Chu Yang seemed to see through their thoughts, saying gravely, "If we aren't harsh on ourselves, then our enemies will be harsher on us. We can endure being harsh on ourselves, but if our enemies are harsh... once is enough!"
