Transcending the Nine Heavens

Chu Yang was furious: “Am I that kind of person?”

Mo Tianji felt a growing sense of danger and pondered, “Your character makes me very uneasy!”

Unable to tolerate Mo Tianji's underhandedness and doubts about his character, Chu Yang exploded in anger: “She will be my wife sooner or later. What’s wrong with that? Does it concern you?”

Mo Tianji was enraged: “Beast! You are truly a complete beast! To associate with you is a deep shame for this strategist!”

“You know nothing!”

Mo Tianji’s face turned red, and he scolded rudely.

Then he sighed and said, “You don’t understand… there’s a backstory to this.”

“Backstory?” Chu Yang was puzzled.

“These two girls are sisters. It was one of my mistakes… Back then, I was still young, and I fell into Mo Tianyun’s scheme. In a fit of anger, I acted recklessly and ended up killing the wrong people—specifically, their parents…”

Mo Tianji sighed: “Afterward, I realized my mistake, but once a life is lost, it cannot be resurrected. At that time, a few subordinates insisted on eliminating the roots of the problem, so… out of desperation, I took them as concubines under the pretense of being lustful, to preserve their lives; to resolve that hatred.”

“I was only sixteen then. I was young and would definitely devise a better plan now.”

Mo Tianji took a deep breath: “I, Mo Tianji, am not a good person. Extinguishing families and killing is my everyday routine. However, what I’ve done was justified in my eyes, so I have no regrets. But for the things I did wrong, simply killing them all cannot erase the guilt.”

“Since these two girls have been with me, I’ve treated them like sisters. On one hand, I’ve tried to atone for my mistake; on the other, every time I see them, I remind myself: never make a mistake again!”

“So most of my decisions are made after deep contemplation. The two sisters are like a warning bell beside me!”

Mo Tianji took a large gulp of wine: “Indeed!”

The two girls had fallen in love with their father’s murderer; their feelings were deeply rooted; they couldn’t be killed or married off. Mo Tianji had accepted the daughters of his enemies, but marrying them off was out of the question, making it a difficult situation.
