CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FOUR: NIGHT CHALLENGER
Wu Qianqian's mind was shaken. She never expected that a just and upright official like Chu Yang could uncover so many doubts just by glancing at the information!
Some of these points, although somewhat far-fetched assumptions, were too deliberate when gathered together! If these were all coincidences... now even Wu Qianqian didn't believe that such coincidences could exist.
"If this person is truly a spy, then he is likely the first big fish we have caught at the Butian Pavilion!" Chu Yang said gravely.
Wu Qianqian shuddered violently. She understood the meaning behind Chu Yang's "big fish." If this were the case, then the number of people implicated from top to bottom would probably be at least hundreds!
Another river of blood!
"Chu Yang, even if he is a spy, you can't just kill him." Wu Qianqian said, "This person has an excellent reputation and is highly esteemed among the people of Iron Cloud. If we take him down rashly, it might cause turmoil in the country."
During this time following Chu Yang, Wu Qianqian had analyzed the military, politics, and livelihood of the Iron Cloud Nation every day, thinking about things much deeper than when she was at the Sky Tower.
"Oh? What do you think?" Chu Yang smiled. Wu Qianqian's learning ability was exceptional. Over these days, she had slowly become more capable. It wouldn't be long before this intelligent young woman became his capable assistant.
Chu Yang did not understand Tie Butian's intentions in sending Wu Qianqian over, but he did not refuse. One reason was that Wu Qianqian was a member of the Sky Tower. If one day he were not around, she could replace him and manage the Butian Pavilion.
This was also the greatest gift Chu Yang had given to his sect. After all, his ultimate goal was not to remain in the lower realms.
Thus, from the beginning, he had been subtly guiding Wu Qianqian's thoughts toward becoming a qualified leader.
"Let’s assume he is indeed a spy; however, his diligence over the years has been evident, and everything he has done has benefited Iron Cloud. Killing him would not be justified and would cause controversy and unrest." Wu Qianqian pondered, "Even if there is evidence of him being an insider, whether the public believes it is another matter."
"I think we should discuss this matter with His Royal Highness the Crown Prince." Wu Qianqian said, "We need to find a way to resolve it, but we must also consider what to do after the resolution. How to quell any potential disturbances."
"Indeed, we cannot act recklessly in this matter; Tie Butian must be informed!" Chu Yang agreed. After a moment of contemplation, he said, "You handle notifying Tie Butian! See what he has to say, and then you supplement it; set a plan of action for me. I need to step out for a bit now."
Saying this, Chu Yang took off his black cloak, removed the mask from his face, and placed them on the table.
"You’re going out again?" Wu Qianqian was somewhat speechless.
These days, Chu Yang spent very little time here each day and then vanished without a trace. Even she did not know where he went.
Chu Yang's movements were so mysterious that Wu Qianqian could hardly believe how he managed to handle such a large workload at the Butian Pavilion. Just looking and thinking would require a huge amount of time, right?
Yet Chu Yang seemed to do it all without any effort.
"Yeah, it’s too stuffy here. I want to go out for a stroll." Chu Yang said casually, extending his hand to reveal a portal that appeared on the wall behind him. With a flash, Chu Yang vanished into the portal.
The portal slowly restored itself, leaving no trace behind. To outsiders, it still appeared to be a complete wall.
Wu Qianqian sighed helplessly, donned Chu Yang's cloak, and put on the mask, sitting in Chu Yang's position. During the days when Chu Yang was absent, she was here "disguising" as him.
Or perhaps, Chu Yang's mystery was merely a way to be lazy? Wu Qianqian thought, smiling bitterly and shaking her head. Nevertheless, she quickly wrote a note, mimicking Chu Yang's tone, and called out, "Someone! Deliver this immediately to the Crown Prince; I have important matters to discuss with His Royal Highness..."
