Chapter 913: Abel vs. Neda ⚔️

Published: July 8, 2025

While Ryo and Robert Pirlo realized the true nature of the vampire golem and charged in to wipe it out, numerous battles were taking place outside.

One of the fiercest battles was likely between Abel and Duke Ruminius Neda.

"Is it true that you have another name, 'Sword Flash's Neda'?"

"Yes, that's right. I have a fondness for swords."

"What a coincidence; I also love swords."

"You are King Abel of the Naitorei Kingdom, aren't you? It's clear that you are quite skilled with a sword, considering how you've been able to withstand my strikes."

Neda nodded.

The two had already crossed blades more than thirty times.

Of course, neither had sustained any significant injuries.

They were not fighting seriously, merely testing each other's strength.

However, to an outside observer, it would appear as though a fierce sword fight was unfolding.

"Honestly, it’s astonishing how well a human can fight like this..."

Neda's words trailed off.

"What's wrong?"

Abel looked on suspiciously.

Though his words had faltered, Neda's movements did not stop.

Yet, his gaze was fixed on Abel's sword.

Indeed, Abel was starting to get used to it.

"Abel, your sword is..."

"Ah, Neda, you know about it too? It seems to be the sword used by my ancestor, King Richard."

"I thought so!"

Neda's expression brightened.

"I remember; I cut off Richard's right arm."

"That's the first I've heard of such specific details about that battle."

"Is that so? I shall cut off your left arm as well."

"I'll do my best not to get cut."

Neda made a grim declaration with a pleased expression, while Abel shook his head slightly.

"Then it's settled; I will show some seriousness."

"What does a vampire duke’s seriousness look like?"

"Like this!"

In the next moment, Abel was blown away.

"I thought I could cut both your torso and left arm."

Neda grimaced.

"When it comes to dukes, does it mean they possess incredible strength?"

Though Abel had been sent flying, he got back up unharmed due to his reflexes and approached Neda once more.

"As a descendant wielding Richard's 'Ex,' I thought you would 'flow' with my sword."

"What, are you saying I'm lacking in skill?"

"Indeed, you are lacking."

"I’m still putting in daily effort."

"I see. That's a wonderful thing."

Abel replied sarcastically, raising one eyebrow, while Neda took it at face value.

True to his title as 'Sword Flash's Neda,' he seemed sincere towards his sword.

Naturally, the sword Neda wielded was his red sword, the Bloody Sword, crafted from his own blood.

"It's good that both humans and vampires take their swords seriously, regardless of their differences."

"Hahaha, excellent, Abel. I completely agree. It’s a strange thing, isn't it? Even though we are different races locked in a fight to the death, those who wield swords can find mutual understanding. Don’t you think so?"

"That might be true."

Abel could understand that feeling.

He felt compelled to ask.

"Hey, since we’ve crossed blades like this, it must be fate. I have something I'd like to ask."

"We are in the midst of a serious duel, you know? Well, I suppose if you initiate conversation, it can be said that way... Is talking while fighting a human trait?"

"When energy rises, words often fall silent. But leading up to that point, there’s usually more talking, right? Vampires live for a long time, right? That means you've experienced more and acquired more knowledge than humans. It wouldn’t hurt to share some of that, would it?"

"Hmm… well, fine. What do you want to know?"

"I heard that you are a vampire duke. And as far as humans know, there are nine vampire dukes."

"Hmm. I can't answer that about the numbers... but what of it?"

"Is there another female duke among them besides you?"

"There is only one. She should still be sleeping up north."

Neda immediately answered Abel's question.

"Really?"

"That's one thing I can answer clearly. At least she isn't dead, and... well, she isn't awake either. I have a fate with her. So, if she were active, I would know."

"I see."

Abel nodded.

The image that floated in Abel's mind was the neighboring country of the Naitorei Kingdom, Twilight Land.
