In the beginning, there was a man in a white robe who watched over Number Four from a distance.
The developer, Ryo.
Though it was unlikely, he hoped that Number Four wouldn’t go berserk or attack anyone...
He felt like a parent watching their child on their first errand...
However, a week later, that watchful eye was no longer needed.
"My child seems to be doing well."
He had gained that confidence.
Number Four blended in with the Royal Knight Order.
"Is that the rumored golem?"
Squad Captain Scotty Kobuck nodded as he watched Number Four following Zack.
"It can't talk, but it understands what we say."
"That ice golem created by Duke Rondo..."
Scotty muttered to himself while looking at Number Four.
His gaze contained a hint of fear, as if he was looking at something terrifying.
"It seems it won't draw its sword against us in the Royal Knight Order or the kingdom delegation."
"Is that so?"
"Yeah. It remembers everyone's faces and recognizes allies no matter the situation."
"Remembers everyone's faces… that's impressive."
Scotty was intrigued by Zack's explanation.
"That memory seems to surpass yours, Zack."
"Hey, Scotty, are you looking for a fight? You're challenging me, right? I’ll take you on if it's a fight!"
As soon as Zack said this, Number Four slipped between the two.
It didn’t say anything, but it was clear it was trying to stop the fight.
"…Impressive."
Scotty was still impressed.
"I'm just kidding; I’m not going to fight."
When Zack lightly patted Number Four's shoulder, it returned to its original position.
"Golems can be this smart, huh?"
"Duke Rondo said it was designed to work cooperatively with humans. With this, we might actually be able to collaborate."
Zack nodded as he looked at Number Four.
Rumors spread.
"That’s the golem from the Naitorei Kingdom..."
"A golem that protects King Abel?"
"It’s smaller compared to our golems from the Western Nations, but..."
"…It looks strong."
Golems in the Western Nations are designed for combat on the battlefield, standing at three meters tall.
However, the swordsmanship instructor Number Four is about one and a half meters, similar to the other garden watchers.
This size is just right for working among humans.
Seeing the Royal Knight members escorting King Abel alongside Number Four showed that golems could not only work on the battlefield but also cooperate with humans in everyday life.
The rumors spread, and individuals who had left the Holy Capital returned specifically to visit King Abel.
"Your Majesty King Robert Pirlo, it is an honor to meet you."
"Not at all, Your Majesty Abel. It is quite rare for people from the Central Nations to meet for the first time in the Western Nations."
The person who visited Abel was Robert Pirlo, leader of the alliance delegation.
He was also known as a powerful mage and was central to the magical combat power of the alliance during the full-scale war between the Naitorei Kingdom and the Handalu Federation fourteen years ago, known as the "Great War."
Ultimately, the "Great War" ended in victory for the kingdom, forcing the alliance to make territorial concessions.
Royalty from two countries with such a fate.
Yet despite this, Robert Pirlo came to visit.
The reason was...
"I see. So that's the rumored golem. I heard it is the same size as a human, but it truly is impressive..."
"Well, being praised by the alliance, which is a golem advanced nation in the Central Nations, is quite flattering."
As Robert Pirlo praised, Abel responded with a smile.
The alliance had been deploying artificial golems developed by Frank de Verde onto the battlefield.
This could officially be considered the only golem in the Central Nations.
In fact, the kingdom was also developing golems capable of fighting on the battlefield, centered at the Royal Alchemy Workshop, but they had yet to be completed.
"This golem was developed by Duke Rondo... Lord Ryo. He is outstanding as a mage, and as an alchemist, he possesses incredible talent."
"Thank you. I will convey your compliment to him."
Abel nodded at Robert Pirlo's praise.
