Centered around Ryo, Mora leads the group with Mini on the right, Palas on the left, Omin beside Ryo, and Anjuri at the back.
There are no tall trees, giving the area a feel of a grassland.
In the south, they can see the pointed high mountain they are heading towards, but the land is not particularly hilly.
Although it is said to be the dark continent in terms of vegetation, the atmosphere feels different from where they were before their transfer.
Ryo checks for future reference.
“Mora Captain, it's correct that the three of us, Mora, Mini, and Palas, are bludgeoners, Anjuri is a swordsman, and Omin is a healer, right?”
“Yes, that's right.”
Omin, walking beside Ryo, nods in response.
“Since I’m a mage, the balance is good.”
“However, Ryo-san is a water attribute…”
“Eh? Yes, that’s correct.”
“If you can just provide water, it would really help us.”
Omin tilts their head and says.
There are few water attribute mages who become adventurers even in the Central Nations.
They are rare in the Royal Magical Association as well.
In other words, they are recognized as mages not suited for the battlefield or rough situations.
That recognition seems to remain unchanged even in the dark continent.
“I can fight too, you know. I was certainly used as a servant for Abel, preparing coffee during the journey.”
Ryo expresses his dissatisfaction with the unfortunate situation he was placed in.
“If possible, please leave the fighting entirely to us.”
“Eh…”
Mora, walking at the front, turns back to say this, leaving Ryo momentarily speechless.
Even Ryo understands the feeling of wanting to contribute.
“I understand.”
Well, if it really comes down to it, he thought he could step up himself.
The first encounter the group had was with six goblins.
Goblins are found all over the world.
Ryo had heard that, but seeing them here in the dark continent was a different experience.
“The size and color seem no different from those in the Central Nations.”
As directed, Ryo observes the battle from a little distance away from the five.
Captain Mora and Vice Captain Anjuri seem to be the attackers, actively delivering finishing blows.
Mini and Palas appear to be on the defensive, ensuring that Healer Omin is not targeted.
“Excluding the absence of a long-range attacking mage, I feel we’re moving quite balanced.”
Ryo comments authoritatively.
He has made a decision.
He will leave it to them.
He decides to seal away the thoughts of “I must, I must.”
“(Like Abel, I will leave it all to them.)”
“(What do you mean by that? I don’t get it. What’s ‘den’?)”
“(I declare my intent to role-play like Abel, where I don’t work and just exploit those around me.)”
“(That sounds more tiring.)”
“(Is it?)”
“(You’ll understand once you experience it.)”
Because it was through the echo of the soul, Ryo could not see Abel’s expression, but he felt a faint smile.
After that, Ryo was reminded of the meaning of Abel's words.
“Ah, be more careful there…”
“When you press, do it all at once…”
“Widen your perspective a bit more…”
“Rather than defending yourself, it's better to attack the opponent coming at you to seal their attack…”
Watching from the back, he experienced such worries many times.
Of course, the five from the third defense squad are doing their best, and even as a party, they have above-average coordination, in his opinion.
However, compared to what he has seen from the red sword and Room 10, they appeared somewhat precarious.
Still, it was to be expected.
The red sword was a former A-rank party.
Room 10 also rose to B-rank at an almost record pace.
Both parties represent the Naitorei Kingdom.
Compared to them, most parties seem to have a long way to go.
Yet, this is a battlefield.
It is not a training ground.
The words spoken cannot be wrong.
“That last coordination was good!”
“Really? Thank you!”
Ryo finds the good points, praises them, and the five wear delighted expressions.
After all, they are risking their lives.
