Demon Leonor stands face to face with demon Garwin.
“Then, Spelno, let’s fight.”
Withdrawing his sword, Leonor stands before Garwin.
By the way, Spelno refers to demons.
Demons call themselves Spelno.
The term “demon” seems to have been assigned by humans…
“Are you… a demon?”
“Indeed.”
Garwin grimaces as he asks, and Leonor nods.
“Why would a demon… ally with Ryo?”
“Don’t misunderstand. I am not an ally of Ryo. Ryo is my target to kill.”
“Huh?”
“I am saying that Ryo is my prey. You tried to snatch him away.”
Leonor pauses for a moment before continuing.
With eyes filled with rage, he glares at Garwin and declares, “Therefore, I will not forgive you.”
“No matter if you are a demon or whatever, if you stand in my way, I will defeat you.”
“Can you do that?”
“Huh?”
“You are Spelno, and I am a demon. That alone determines the outcome, doesn’t it?”
Garwin glares silently at Leonor’s words.
“Spelno… it is true that if one thinks normally, you are strong. Stronger than vampires and, for some reason, the female phantoms on the dark continent. However, you are weaker than us.”
“…”
“You know, don’t you? The reason your numbers have dwindled so much.”
“...You were ‘devoured’ by dragons and us demons.”
“Exactly.”
At that moment, Leonor smiled for the first time.
However, it was a smile that instilled fear in those who beheld it.
A terrifying grin.
“Well, the dragons were punished because you overstepped, but… we are different.”
“…”
“Hunting you is enjoyable. That’s why I actively pursued it.”
“…”
“Recently, another demon supposedly fought a red Spelno. It seems the Spelno was sleep-deprived and couldn’t enjoy it much. How about you?”
The moment Leonor said that…
Clang!
In an almost instantaneous move, he closed the distance and slashed horizontally.
Garwin receives Leonor’s slash with his bracers.
In the next moment…
“[Howling]!”
When Leonor casts the spell, Garwin’s left shoulder explodes.
“Guh!”
Garwin jumps back significantly, creating distance.
The exploded shoulder quickly regenerates.
However, there is an expression fixed on Garwin’s face… a mix of anger and confusion.
“Just now, that was a dragon's technique!”
“Oh? You know it well, Spelno. It’s a technique they often use. As long as this exists, you Spelno can never defeat a dragon.”
Garwin shouts, while Leonor smirks.
“A technique that utilizes the ‘unique vibrations inherent to living beings.’ It seems dragons and Spelno have the worst compatibility. How pathetic.”
Leonor does not feel the least bit of pity.
One of the techniques that makes the compatibility between dragons and Spelno the worst is the [Howling] that Leonor just unleashed.
However, even Garwin, who has lived a long life, has never heard of anyone but dragons using [Howling].
“Why can you, a demon, use that technique?”
“I had seen it before. I tried it out of curiosity, and it worked.”
“What the hell…?”
Garwin emits a sound close to a groan.
Dragons are, without a doubt, the pinnacle of their kind.
Even Garwin does not think he can absolutely win… even against an ordinary dragon.
Naturally, facing the Dragon King, the apex of dragons… he would last not even ten seconds.
They are an unreasonable existence in every sense.
Can a demon use a dragon’s technique?
“If it’s just imitation, I can do it quite well. Why don’t you try it?”
“No way!”
“Denying it without even trying is an utter waste.”
After saying that, Leonor opened his eyes wide and chanted.
“[Dragon Fang]!”
Five claws that slash through space.
Naturally, Garwin’s body is sliced through along with the space.
He regenerates at high speed again, but this time, the expression stuck to his face is not anger and confusion, but fear and bewilderment.
The technique he just used is clearly a dragon's technique, as the chant indicated.
“Not only [Howling], but also [Dragon Fang]…”
“I told you, I can do quite well when it comes to imitation. Admittedly, compared to the real Dragon Kings, the output is too weak, but against Spelno, it’s more than enough.”
