Today, I present you with the second chapter.
I believe reading the previous chapter, "Extra: Intermission," will deepen your understanding of the main story.
Finally, the ‘blazing flame mage’...
Two days after Ryo returned from the Lord's Manor. Three days after the battle with the devil.
The four members of Room 10, including Ryo, were having breakfast at the Guild cafeteria.
"Finally, our first escort request!"
Swordsman Nils was very excited.
"Hey Nils, if you're this excited now, you won't last," Ryo warned as he noticed Nils was struggling to finish his meal.
"But I'm so glad! With Ryo joining us, we'll be fine no matter what happens," Priest Eto said, showing a hint of refinement as he continued to eat.
"It's my first time partnering with other party members as well," Amon, who was the only F-rank adventurer among them and a swordsman apprentice, couldn't hide his excitement.
"If we follow what Abel told us last night, we'll be fine. He is, after all, the leader of a B-rank party, so he must have plenty of experience."
Indeed, the four had met Abel by chance in the cafeteria last night, where he had taught them the basics of escort requests.
"With ten people for the escort, that means there will likely be five carriages. Well, it might go up to seven depending on the situation, but the method remains the same. Three people at the front carriage, three at the last carriage, and the remaining four spread out to guard in between, which is the standard."
"We can't rest in the carriages, huh... that's disappointing."
"Yeah, Ryo, you won't tire easily, so keep walking. The carriages are naturally filled with goods, so there’s no place for the escorting adventurers to ride. As for the guard placement I just mentioned, it may change depending on the makeup of the members. Generally, it varies based on the number of priests or long-range attack jobs like magicians and archers. This time, it's DeLong we're teaming up with, right? He’s experienced with escort requests, so you can leave the placements to him."
Since everyone had learned about what to bring during the beginner's seminar, there were no particular issues.
"The beginner's seminar was really excellent..."
Abel's mutterings went unheard by anyone.
After finishing their breakfast, the four headed towards the meeting spot for the escort request a bit earlier than necessary.
"More importantly... is it really okay for our party name to be 'Room 10'?"
Ryo asked the same question for what felt like the umpteenth time since yesterday.
With Nils and Eto having advanced to E-rank, they were now allowed to name their party, and they had chosen ‘Room 10’ as their name.
"Of course! It fits us the best," Nils declared confidently.
It was clear whose idea it was just from that alone... well, even without his statement, one could kind of understand.
Eto watched with a wry smile.
Amon, who looked troubled but didn't deny it, was also present.
In any case, despite all the chatter, it was still centered around Nils, and they were 'Room 10'.
There are no specific regulations on party names.
Anything that disparages someone or something is a no-go.
For example, a party name like "Abel's Idiots" would likely not be accepted.
Additionally, if a party name includes something like "King" or "Royal Family," the Guild would demand a change.
It's somewhat similar to how the name 'Royal' cannot be used freely in England.
With relatively loose regulations, there seems to be a wide variety of party names among adventurers affiliated with the City of Run.
Of course, there are names like ‘Red Sword’ and ‘White Brigade’,
‘Red Dragon and Blue Wolf’,
‘Kreis and Friends’,
‘Armor Brigade’,
‘Let's All Become Blacksmiths’,
‘Coffee Maker’,
‘Switchback’,
‘Devil’, and so on...
It seems that the last one had recently requested a chat with the Guild staff regarding the dungeon transfer incident...
Of course, this had nothing to do with them, and they had just chosen a name that sounded somewhat strong, with no members resembling devil worshipers.
