The Water Magician

Chapter 62: 0060-2

Published: July 4, 2025

Because chapter 0060 was long, it has been split into two parts.

Since it's Golden Week, here's an extra post.

Ryo, who missed breakfast at the Guild cafeteria, was walking down the street searching for a place to eat.

When the dungeon was open, the street leading to the entrance in the city center was lined with numerous stalls, but ever since the great tsunami, only a handful had remained.

This was partly due to a decrease in adventurers around the dungeon, leading to declining sales, but more significantly, the supply of monster meat from the dungeon had diminished.

The meat from the goblins on the fourth and fifth floors of the dungeon was inedible, but the other layers up to the tenth floor yielded quite delicious meat.

And now that the dungeon was closed, even the few stalls open were not ready at this hour.

Thus, Ryo was looking for a restaurant along the street, but… those were also still closed.

"Could it be… no breakfast for me...?"

Breakfast is important.

A day's vitality stems from breakfast.

I can't get by without eating!

While thinking that, he arrived in front of the Golden Wave Pavilion.

This was the place where the abel's return thanksgiving festival was held and where Ryo had gotten drunk.

The taste is guaranteed.

Moreover, it was also a regular lodging for Abel and the red sword.

As you enter the Golden Wave, you first see the inn's counter right in front. To the right, there is the dining area.

"What? The red sword is already gone?"

"Yes, just a while ago… about thirty minutes ago, they left for a party. They haven't checked out, so I don't think it's for a distant request…"

At the inn's counter, the innkeeper was talking with a customer who seemed to be a guest.

The customer was about the same height as Lin, wearing a black mage robe similar to hers, and holding a large staff like hers.

From the sound of her voice, she seemed to be a girl who hadn't yet reached adulthood.

However, upon hearing that the red sword was gone, the girl visibly became downcast.

"Perhaps if I go to the adventurers' guild, there's a chance I might see them...?"

"Yes, there might be a possibility."

Saying that, the innkeeper noticed Ryo who had just entered.

"Oh, Ryo-san, welcome!"

Hearing that voice, the girl turned around quickly and looked at Ryo.

Then she ran up to Ryo, grabbed his arm, and said,

"Big brother!"

"Big brother?!"

Upon hearing the girl's call, the innkeeper exclaimed in surprise.

"No, that's not right."

Perhaps she thought they were long-lost siblings, but of course, Ryo had never met this girl before.

"Big brother, you’re an adventurer, right? I need to go to the adventurers' guild right away. Please take me there!"

"Uh..."

Would Ryo actually get to have breakfast...?

Of course, he could ignore the girl's request and enjoy the delicious breakfast at the Golden Wave Pavilion, but fundamentally, Ryo was kind-hearted.

Thus, he was now walking in the opposite direction down the main street with the mage girl in tow.

"As I said earlier, if you go south on this street, you'll find the guild..."

"Yes, but if I miss it, it would be terrible. I just arrived in this town and truly don't know my right from left."

The name of the mage girl was Natalie.

She said that she had just arrived from the royal capital last night as part of an academic research team attached to the Royal Magic Guild.

The Royal Magic Guild was staying at several inns, including the Golden Wave Pavilion, but Natalie had been staying at the Golden Wave.

"I received a letter from my magic teacher's teacher, which means the great teacher, instructing me to deliver it directly to Mr. Abel of the red sword. That's why I need to go to the adventurers' guild..."

"I see, that sounds quite troublesome."

While they were discussing this, the two arrived at the adventurers' guild.

The timing couldn't have been more perfect.

Just as they arrived, Abel and the members of the red sword came out of the guild.

"Abel, just the person I was looking for!"

"Ryo, what’s up?"

"This young lady has something she wants to give to Abel. Don’t worry, it’s not a fan letter."
