Jun Luo was retreating while engaging in combat at the rear.
The gray goblins were swinging their clubs wildly.
The goblins were about the height of a human's chest, so the clubs they wielded were not large.
Thus, their power was not strong.
However, the sheer number of them was overwhelming.
Continuously fighting against multiple enemies was not easy, even for the experienced Jun Luo.
Still, with the swordsman Rosso to his left and the scout Chunk to his right, they only needed to deal with the front.
That was enough to manage the situation.
At that moment, he caught a glimpse of a figure far away… beyond the horde of goblins.
It felt like… someone was there.
“Is that a person?”
Did Jun Luo's murmur reach anyone?
As expected of a scout, Chunk also looked past the goblins.
“It looks like a person.”
After saying that, Chunk returned to the fight.
Being a scout, combat was not his main profession.
Therefore, he didn’t have the luxury to observe while fighting.
Nevertheless, the fact that he was handling a considerable number of goblins indicated that he was a top-tier adventurer.
With Jun Luo, Chunk, and Rosso at the rear, the group advanced toward the village while fending off the goblins attacking from the sides.
“It's the last slope.”
Jun Luo said to Chunk and Rosso.
The others had begun running down the slope.
A glance revealed that a sturdy fence had been built around the village.
“Get in there, both of you! Jump inside the fence!”
At Jun Luo's signal, Chunk and Rosso took off running.
Seeing that, Jun Luo also dashed forward.
The goblins, chasing after the three, began to run down the slope as well.
Jun Luo regretted bringing the goblins to the village, but he had also come to terms with it.
It was better to fight in the village than in the mountains.
They had planned to build the fence before the goblins appeared, so the situation should be favorable for an ambush.
Upon seeing the sturdy fence, he realized that his judgment had not been wrong.
Moreover, there should be those below the seventh rank in the village too.
He wasn't sure about their exact strength, though…
Just then, Jun Luo tripped over a stone.
He immediately understood that he had twisted his right ankle.
“Crap!”
But it was too late.
He tried to get back up quickly, but he couldn't put any weight on his right ankle.
In that moment, he saw a goblin approaching…
“Ice Spike 64!”
An ice spear flew over Jun Luo and pierced through the goblins that were closing in on him.
At the same time, a swordsman in a black cloak came up to him and effortlessly threw him over his shoulder.
Without a word, he ran toward the village… and entered the fence.
“Woooooah!”
Cheers erupted.
Those who weren’t cheering were shedding tears.
They were not only happy that Jun Luo had been saved but also grateful that they themselves were safe.
The calmest among them was the swordsman who had carried Jun Luo.
After setting him down on the ground, he handed him a potion.
“You're Jun Luo, right? From the looks of it, you don’t seem to have any serious injuries aside from your ankle, but you do have some bruises. Must be from the goblins' clubs…”
“Yeah. That was Abel, wasn’t it? There were just too many of them. As for the others…”
“A few have minor injuries, but everyone managed to return. It seems like you did a good job leading.”
Abel nodded in response to Jun Luo's inquiry.
Indeed, all sixty members of the frontline team had successfully retreated to the village.
Once Abel carried Jun Luo into the fence, the goblins came to a halt.
They were not hesitating on whether to continue their pursuit.
It was as if they were waiting for some command from someone or something…
“What is that…?”
The one who murmured was Vice Daimyo Fu Ten.
His gaze was directed toward the slope where Jun Luo and the others had descended.
There was something there that was not a goblin…
“Is that a person…?”
Abel murmured.
Right next to Abel was Ryo and Vice Daimyo Fu Ten.
So, the words reached both of their ears.
