The Water Magician

Chapter 52: The Difference in Strength 💪

Published: July 4, 2025

"I somehow managed to survive..."

It's been a while since I almost died in battle... probably since that one-eyed assassin hawk.

For now, I decided to sit on a bench in the plaza in front of the library to avoid standing out.

(Since that one-eyed assassin hawk... come to think of it, that guy used magic nullification. The Behi-chan had a magic nullification space. And now, that devil, Leonor, was able to erase my icicle lance just by waving his hand... Whether it was 32 or 64, it was gone in an instant...)

"Ouch."

A sharp pain shot through my left shoulder.

It was where Leonor's Wind Spear had hit.

My bones weren't broken. It was probably just a bruise.

This pain was proof that the battle I had just experienced was definitely not a dream.

But more surprising than that was the fact that my robe had no damage whatsoever.

(If it weren't for this robe, I would have had a big hole in my shoulder... I'm grateful to my master.)

I imagined the dullahan in my mind and bowed my head in gratitude.

(Leonor's magic... that was magic, right? It had incredible power... But more than that, the speed of his movement... the speed at which he charged in and retreated in an instant... I think it’s probably not space transfer, but something like wind magic... like a breakdown charge... Damn, that wind magic!)

For some reason, my self-reflection seemed to lead to defamation against wind attribute magic.

(Come to think of it, he mentioned something about a time limit...)

The solar eclipse had already ended.

I concluded that it probably had something to do with the eclipse.

Even though there were many people around, only Leonor and I had been in that space.

(There's so much I don't understand. I won't think about the things I don't understand right now! For now, I need to buy an alchemy book and gather information about devils when I get back... But then again, Abel didn't even know.)

On my journey to Run, I had asked Abel if he knew anything about devils.

But Abel's answer was that he knew about devils but not about devils, which was rather confusing.

(Abel is probably the third son of a noble family... but if even someone from the so-called educated class doesn't know, it’s not easy to gather information.)

"Well, I guess I'll buy some books and head back."

There was no one in Dormitory Room 10.

From the window of Room 10, I could see the outdoor training area of the adventurers' guild.

"Huh? Are they still training?"

Among the few people in the training area were the three from Room 10.

"If I weren't tired, I would beat you all up..."

Nils said with frustration.

There were the defeated Nils, Eto, and Amon, along with five men looking down at them.

"Hah! When losing, you can even speak so refreshingly," one of the five said.

All five were adventurers from Dormitory Room 1.

They must have lost in a mock battle or something.

"You say that after ambushing us..."

Eto said bitterly.

"Hey, hey. So you guys want us to tell the monsters in the dungeon to wait a minute before attacking? Like, 'Please don't attack us right now; we're tired'? Don't talk nonsense."

The man from Room 1, Dan, said mockingly.

"You're absolutely right. It's the careless ones who are at fault."

At that moment, as his voice echoed through the training ground, ice spears pierced the stomachs of the four men from Room 1, excluding the mocking Dan.

Of course, the tips were rounded, so they weren't injured.

The four were just writhing in agony.

"What the...?"

"What happened? The ice spears hit the stomachs of the four."

Saying this, I revealed myself in the training area.

"Ryo!"

The three from Room 10, still on the ground, called my name in unison.

"You...!"

"You shouldn't let your guard down. Earlier, you made a good point. You asked if we should tell the enemies before they attack... as if that would happen. Honestly... Nils and the others are slacking off."

Saying this, I first made Eto drink a potion.

If I healed the priest Eto, the other two would likely get healed as well.

"I'm sorry..."

Nils said in a small voice.

"Well, you all have been running since morning, so it's understandable that you reached your physical limit. We need to work on our endurance more during the weekends."
