"Fighting is happening everywhere..."
"There are a lot of signs of fierce battles, but no corpses."
"There's a lot of 'spirit smoke'..."
"Over there, in the spectator seats! Arachne is attacking!"
Nils and Amon focused on the battle, while Eto discovered the same 'spirit smoke' that Amon had fought earlier, and Ryo compared the abominable spider to an Arachne.
Arachne is a monster from Greek mythology, described as a creature with the upper body of a woman and the lower body of a spider.
When mentioned, the abominable spider does resemble one, but... the head of Cardinal Sakarias is clearly male... and the abdomen of the Pope is also male...
While spiders typically have eight legs, the one in the arena has four.
However, in terms of silhouette, it's understandable why Ryo referred to it as an Arachne...
"That spider... isn't it casting four spells?"
"It seems so... Since it has multiple faces, can it cast spells separately from each one? I seem to recall reading a comic about something like that once..."
Eto asked, and Ryo nodded in response.
It appeared that the word 'comic' did not resonate with Eto.
Ryo remembered with that much detail.
"Speaking of which, the Pope that attacked us before had four heads floating and was casting four spells simultaneously, didn't he?"
"What do you mean, four heads floating?"
"Next to the real head, there were four floating... It was quite creepy."
Ryo answered Nils's question accurately, but it seemed it didn't convey the intended image.
Nils was tilting his head in confusion.
Conveying a scene that someone hasn't seen before through words is quite difficult.
Giving up on painting the picture, Nils glanced around the arena and spectator seats.
First, he made eye contact with Graham in the arena.
Then, he locked eyes with Hugh McGrath in the spectator seats.
Graham, with his gaze, indicated the two bags placed on the ground.
Hugh, with his gaze, pointed to the guest seats of the Eastern Nations under attack by the abominable spider.
Nils understood everything from just that.
"It’s an order from the captain. We need to save the guests from the Eastern Nations that are under attack. And Graham, it seems, wants us to use the two Holy Swords that have no wielders."
The explanation from Nils surprised the three.
While they were shocked, they also understood that it was the most necessary action at that moment.
"Amon and I will wield the Holy Swords and cut through the 'spirit smoke' while charging into the arena. We'll slash the abominable spider from behind. Ryo and Eto, you go to the guest seats. Eto, heal the injured there. Ryo, make sure to protect Eto, and after that, protect the guests."
"Understood."
The three responded in unison.
"<Ice Armor Multi-layer Ice 30 Layers>"
Ryo chanted, and the bodies of the four were clad in ice armor.
Then, after taking a breath...
"Let's go!"
With Nils's command, the four took off running.
Nils and Amon ran towards the spot where Graham and the other Cardinals and the Archbishop were gathered.
Along the way, there was 'spirit smoke,' but it was just swaying...
The two didn’t attack and simply dashed through.
The clergymen, who were fixated on the battle between Graham and Stefania against the 'spirit smoke,' only noticed Nils and Amon after they ran up and picked up the Holy Swords from the bags on the ground.
"Hey!"
Seeing that scene, they couldn’t help but call out.
A human who looked like an adventurer had come and picked up the Holy Sword.
However...
"Good!"
While fighting, Graham, who was keeping an eye on the actions of Room 10, called out.
With that voice, the clergymen, mainly the inquisitors who tried to stop the two, froze in place.
It was undoubtedly the voice of their esteemed former boss, Graham.
"Count on us to rescue the guests from the Eastern Nations."
"I understand."
While Graham said this amidst the battle, Nils replied.
At the same time, Nils and Amon took the Holy Swords from the bags.
In that moment, Graham and Stefania saw the Holy Swords flicker slightly.
"It lit up..."
"That seems to be the glow that confirms the Holy Sword has recognized its master. As expected of a b-rank adventurer."
