A few days after Ryo headed towards the Republic for the second time, the six members of Room 10 and Room 11 resumed their exploration of the West Dungeon of the Holy Capital.
While it was enjoyable in itself, to be honest, they couldn't help but wonder if it was the right time to undertake a dungeon exploration again...
"Go ahead," said their leader, Hugh McGrath.
His tone left no room for argument.
Even Nils could tell there was something behind it, but he chose to accept it without saying anything.
There was no need to communicate it now, as it wasn't the right timing to do so.
In any case, it was probably something that Nils and the others shouldn't know just yet.
So Hugh said nothing.
Then Nils decided not to ask any questions either.
Their lodging in the town of the West Dungeon had become the regular inn, the Holy Capital Minstrel.
While staying at the town's top-class inn with the delegation's funds, they proceeded with their dungeon exploration.
"Is it really okay for us to be treated this lavishly?" Amon said with a smile, enjoying the luxurious dinner.
"There’s only one condition set by Hugh. Don’t leave the town of the West Dungeon until instructed. As long as we follow that, we should be fine, right?" Eto replied cheerfully while eating.
Nils found it somewhat concerning, but he understood that there was nothing to be done about it.
Now, the last floor they had explored was the one hundredth, where the boss resided.
So this time, they would start from the one hundred first floor.
"The next boss is at the one hundred fiftieth floor... and the deepest recorded layer is there," Nils stated, but the truth was that there were numerous concerns to address before reaching that point.
Firstly, this group consisted of three swordsmen, one dual-wielder, and two priests.
To put it bluntly, their balance was off.
They had almost no long-range attack capability.
At most, Eto had a repeating crossbow attached to his left arm… and perhaps the light javelins of the two priests.
There was no mage among them.
But well, that was fine.
Whether it was Room 10 or Room 11, it was generally a party without a mage.
If anything, they were used to it.
However, in a dungeon, the absence of a scout was tough.
Even reaching the one hundredth floor had several deadly traps.
Of course, they had avoided all of them…
The trap detection skills of Amon and Zeek were outstanding.
Amon relied completely on intuition.
Zeek logically speculated where traps might be lurking.
Together, their trap avoidance rate was a remarkable ninety-nine percent!
There was one occasion when Gowan accidentally triggered a trap during a moving battle, causing a poison arrow trap to activate.
Fortunately, dozens of incoming poison arrows were neutralized by Eto's emergency defensive spell, Sanctuary.
Even then, it was Zeek who had pointed it out before Gowan stepped on it... though Gowan hadn’t understood that.
In other words, with Amon and Zeek together, they could find all the traps.
Despite that, an inexplicable anxiety lingered in Nils' heart…
The next day, they started exploring the dungeon.
Compared to before, the layers were considerably wider.
Of course, no maps were available...
Moreover, there was hardly any information below the one hundred first floor.
This was because many previous adventurers had failed to clear the boss at the one hundredth floor and had stopped their exploration there.
The boss that appeared at the one hundredth floor was entirely random.
However, it was said that, typically, a relatively strong boss would appear.
The boss that appeared before the six was a wyvern.
It could be considered one of the strongest class bosses that appear at the one hundredth floor.
In fact, normally, if a wyvern appeared, any party would retreat.
There was no problem in retreating at the one hundredth floor.
The only restriction was that they could only enter once a day, but there were no downsides at all.
If they dived in the next day, a different boss would appear, and they could just reattempt the fight then.
