In the afternoon of the day they encountered the griffin, the two found themselves in another troublesome situation.
Both of them hid behind a large rock, peeking out just a bit to look ahead.
What they saw was two wyverns pecking at what seemed to be a boa.
"Because Abel wished for it, the wyverns have come from over there."
"I didn’t wish for anything!"
The two argued in whispers.
"There’s no way to go around them, so should we wait here until they finish their meal?"
"Before that, they might notice us. And there’s no guarantee a third one won’t show up."
"Ryo... are you really suggesting we fight them?"
Abel looked at Ryo with a face that said, "What are you talking about?"
It was only natural for him to have that expression.
Normally, to carry out a wyvern subjugation, at least 20 adventurers of C-rank or above were needed.

And they were considering doing this with just two people—a swordsman and a water attribute magician—against two wyverns?

Abel drew his sword, ready to leap out at any moment.

Abel nodded and looked at the two wyverns.

As soon as they were created, they fell, piercing one of the wyverns’ wings each and pinning them to the ground.
"GYIIIIIIIIIIIIII!"
The wyvern's screech echoed.
As Ryo chanted "Icicle Lance 4," Abel dashed out from behind the rock.
Thick ice lances were piercing the wings of the wyverns in front of him.
Moreover, they didn’t disappear after piercing.
As a result, the wyverns were pinned to the ground by their wings, unable to use Air Slash or swat away Abel, who approached with his claws.
Also, pinned down by the ice lances, their target, the 'eyes,' were at a reachable height if they jumped.

He drove the glowing red magic sword into the left eye of the nearest wyvern.
The sword pierced through the eyeball, reaching the wyvern's brain.
The wyvern fell without letting out a death cry.
However, Abel did not even glance at the fallen wyvern and drove his red magic sword into the right eye of the other wyvern.
