Today, I’m posting the second chapter.
At midnight, I posted the previous chapter "0342 Neil Anderson."
Please read it from there.
"Now, do you know who those six people are, or what kind of people they are?"
Ryo asked the two who had fled to his side.
The two's eyes were wide open.
"Most likely... one of the assassination squads from the church."
Captain Bangaan murmured in response.
"One of them? They have so many assassination squads... how terrifying."
Ryo shook his head repeatedly as he spoke.
"According to rumors, there are said to be thirteen assassination squads, each led by one of the twelve cardinals and the Pope."
Vice-Captain Amaria replied.
As expected of the Intelligence Agency, they seem to be diligent in gathering information about the enemy.
"Then... we should capture them and make them talk."
Ryo murmured.
"That's true, but they must be exceptionally skilled..."
Captain Bangaan answered in a low voice.
Vice-Captain Amaria was swallowing hard beside him, appearing quite tense.
The six members of the assassination squad were inching closer.
"Well then, shall we proceed?"
Ryo murmured and cast a spell.
"Ice Coffin 6."
In an instant, six blocks of ice were created, trapping the members of the assassination squad inside.
"Eh..."
Bangaan and Amaria exclaimed in unison.
As Ryo approached the ice coffin, he said, "Alright, alright. I was a bit worried since it's been a while since I used Ice Coffin, but it seems fine. My skills haven't diminished."
He patted the ice, nodding in satisfaction.
"Um... aren't we supposed to capture them alive?"
Captain Bangaan asked with a fearful expression.
Perhaps he was imagining what would happen if that magic was directed at him.
"Oh, don’t worry. They’re alive."
"Alive... in this situation...?"
Vice-Captain Amaria's murmur was only heard by Bangaan beside her.
"We could interrogate them here, but we don't have any interrogation skills..."
Just as Ryo was about to say more, he suddenly moved.
"Ice Wall Level 10."
Crack, sizzle.
A massive flame spiraled toward Ryo.
The ice wall that blocked it melted down to the ninth layer.
"Impossible..."
Such power even surprised Ryo.
The flames that could melt the Ice Wall could only belong to Leonor or that blazing flame mage... or perhaps a red bear.
Could they really be that level...?
The five appeared suddenly.
"Teleportation? No, this feels different..."
Ryo had experienced the sensation of those who appeared via teleportation several times before.
To be precise, he understood how the Passive Sonar perceived those who teleported.
The five before him felt different.
In fact, they were more akin to that rafflesia imposter plant monster.
Of course, that was a form of optical concealment... but this felt like the concealment was an upgraded version.
What an appearance.
"I can't believe my Fire Breath couldn't penetrate..."
The man at the center, with flaming red hair, said in a rather flat voice.
He seemed to be in his late twenties, standing about 180 centimeters tall.
His clothing was white, resembling a military coat more than a robe.
"Cesare, what should we do?"
"Kill them all. Follow my lead."
Saying this, the red-haired man known as Cesare raised his right hand to shoulder height and chanted.
"Fire Cannon."
At the moment he chanted, countless fire projectiles were launched from Cesare's right arm.
"Fireball."
The other four chanted as well, unleashing dozens of fiery orbs.
"Ice Wall Level 20."
Ryo moved in front of the two from the Special Agency and created an ice wall in front of him.
However, even Ryo's ice wall...
"It's melting? What tremendous power..."
To his astonishment, the flames melted and pierced through his Ice Wall...
Each time, he had to renew the ice wall.
But...
"Those people..."
Vice-Captain Amaria's murmur could be heard.
Looking, he saw the six he had frozen... the ice coffins were being attacked and were being mercilessly destroyed.
Those trapped inside...
"They're not allies..."
Captain Bangaan's strained voice was filled with bitterness.
Though they were the six who had tried to kill them, they had lost their combat abilities... there was no need to attack and kill them on purpose...
