CHAPTER TEXT:
Today is the second episode.
In the Naitorei Kingdom's royal capital, in the king's office at the Royal Castle.
“It’s been a while, Roman.”
“Your Majesty, I—”
“No, we’re old acquaintances. Let’s skip the formalities.”
As Hero Roman was about to greet him, Abel interrupted.
“Lady Nadia, it’s a pleasure to meet you for the first time. I am King Abel the First of the Naitorei Kingdom.”
“Your Majesty, it’s an honor to meet you. My name is Nadia. I am grateful for your approval of our relocation.”
With that, Nadia bowed her head.
Hero Roman and Demon King Nadia.
Abel had permitted their relocation to his kingdom.
“Don’t worry about it. If it’s a recommendation from the first duke of our kingdom, it’s only natural to accept you.”
“Ryo-san has become the first duke, hasn't he?”
Roman was genuinely surprised that Ryo, who had fought alongside him in the past, had risen to such a high position.
Of course, it was also surprising that the adventurer Abel had become a king.
“So… I’d like to hear your hopes regarding how you want to live in our kingdom.”
Abel said this and looked at Count Heinlein, who was nearby.
“Yes, Your Majesty. Whether noble or commoner, or any other special status, there are no problems with any of them. For now, I believe it would be best not to announce that you are a hero yet.”
Count Heinlein gave an answer that indicated anything was possible.
“If possible, I would prefer not to be of noble status… Regardless of the territory, having subjects is a bit… Both Nadia and I come from a village, so we are good at growing wheat and the like.”
Roman modestly expressed his hope.
“Hmmm. What do you think, Count Heinlein?”
“In that case, how about a wealthy farmer from the Southern region? In the City of Run… it’s just outside the city, but as Your Majesty knows, there are many farmers living outside of Run. One of them, a rather large wheat farm, has recently lost its couple of owners, and their heir has joined the Royal Knight Order, so they are selling the house and land. The purchase costs can be covered by the kingdom… how does that sound?”
“… I feel like I’ve heard a similar story somewhere.”
Abel tilted his head in question at Count Heinlein’s explanation.
Roman and Nadia exchanged glances and both nodded.
“Please, we would like that.”
Roman answered clearly.
“Wait, wait… Count Heinlein, I’d like to confirm something. Who is living next door to that house? I mean, who is adjoining?”
Abel seemed to have something bothering him.
“Yes, they are about five hundred meters away, so there shouldn’t be a concern… but living there is a mage with a water attribute.”
“Of course! It’s right next to Ryo’s house!”
Abel responded, nearly slamming the desk as he declared “of course” to the calm answer from Count Heinlein.
“Huh? Ryo-san's?”
Roman looked surprised.
“Yes. Next door lives Duke Rondo Ryo Mihara. Well, he is currently in the Western Nations, and even otherwise, he tends to spend more time in the royal capital… He has his own territory too, so it seems he hasn’t returned to Run’s house much lately.”
Count Heinlein paused for a moment before continuing.
“Well, the City of Run is one of the most stable and safe cities in the kingdom. It’s certainly a recommended place for relocation.”
Roman and Nadia nodded in agreement.
“Please, we would like to go there.”
As usual, I will post the main story “0339” at 9 PM.
