The Water Magician

Chapter 243: 0229 Ascension Ceremony đź‘‘

Published: July 3, 2025

“Today, at noon, I hereby declare that Raymond has ascended to the throne.”

The one who reported this to Abel in the office of Run was Marquis Heinlein.

Alexis Heinlein.

Once serving as the commander of the Royal Knight Order, he was known for his ferocity, earning him the nickname 'Demon.'

However, his skills in espionage are said to be exceptional, with an information network that extends throughout the kingdom.

The capital city of Acre boasts the largest scale in the southern region, and he can be regarded as one of the great nobles representing the South both in name and fact.

Additionally, his son, Phelps A. Heinlein, is a b-rank adventurer based in the City of Run.

“I understand. Then let’s proceed with the ascension as scheduled two days from now.”

Abel replied.

He intentionally chose to wait two days instead of ascending immediately.

During that time, he wanted to ensure that the news of Raymond’s ascension would reach every city.

Afterward, he would ascend in an overlapping manner.

Abel’s ascension was already arranged to reach every town in the country on the same day.

Ryo was watching the top-level meeting, not from his usual sofa, but sitting obediently in a chair in the corner of the room.

Seeing Ryo, Alexis smiled and said, “Still, it’s reassuring to have Ryo, the rumored water attribute magician, as Lord Abel’s guard.”

“N-no, it’s not that great…”

Ryo blushed at being complimented directly by the marquis and the famous former knight commander.

“He usually doesn’t do anything, though,” Abel added.

“You really should have a guardian around you! I understand, let’s encase you in ice for protection. That way, you won’t be affected by any attacks!” Ryo said, nodding emphatically.

“Hey, idiot, stop that,” Abel quickly refused.

“Abel, don’t hold back,” Alexis encouraged.

“Ryo, absolutely do not do that!” Abel exclaimed.

Watching the two, Alexis burst into laughter and said, “So this ice encasement is the same as the one where you declared to encase Princess Fiona in ice to the blazing flame mage, isn’t it?”

“You know quite well,” Abel was impressed with Alexis’ information network, while Ryo could only flap his mouth open in silence.

At that moment, Lin and Warren entered.

“Abel, I’m back… Marquis Heinlein? It’s been a while,” Lin greeted in surprise, and Warren bowed deeply in greeting.

“Ah, you’re the daughter of Shuke. Warren, well, it’s been a while,” Abel acknowledged.

Warren smiled, a rare sight for him.

However, the storm of the day arrived shortly after.

Bang! The door swung open.

“Abel, Ryo is here…”

An old magician with wild white hair and beard entered without knocking.

“Old man, at least knock,” Abel sighed.

“Well, it’s typical of Ilalion,” Abel remarked with exasperation while Alexis laughed wryly.

“Ah, so the Demon has come. No, more importantly…”

“Ryo, run away!” Lin called out, but it was futile. Ryo had already come into Ilalion’s view.

“You must be Ryo,” Ilalion confirmed.

“Yes, that’s me. Lord Ilalion,” Ryo replied, nodding and waiting for Ilalion to approach without fleeing.

This was because Ryo had a lot he wanted to discuss with Ilalion.

“Ryo, I have something I’d like to talk to you about. Is that alright?” Ilalion asked.

“I also have questions and confirmations regarding magic for you, Lord Ilalion,” Ryo replied.

“What is it?” Ilalion asked, a little surprised by Ryo’s answer.

He then smiled happily.

Ilalion was a seeker of magic.

If that’s the case, he had no objection to discussing magic.

“Of course. Let’s talk a lot. Abel, order us some drinks,” Ilalion commanded.

“Abel, I’d like coffee,” Ryo added.

“It seems this is going to take a while,” Abel grumbled while Alexis chuckled.

Watching them, Lin trembled a bit, hiding behind Warren.

“Ryo is a sacrifice for the master…”

She murmured those words.

“Ryo, you said you had questions and things you wanted to confirm?” Ilalion asked.
