That day, Ryo was grappling with the water jet from the morning.
It wasn’t an aggressive water jet, but a type designed to assist movement, shooting out from his body.
For convenience, Ryo had named it the "water jet thruster."
It just sounded cooler that way.
The practice location was his yard.
A yard measuring four hundred meters by four hundred meters, spacious enough for three soccer fields to fit comfortably.
At that moment, it was covered in "water."
An improvised pool.
However, it was not a pool made by digging into the ground, but rather one made "above" the ground.
From outside the yard, it was a bizarre sight with a five-meter wall of water towering in front of him.
Of course, Ryo had prepared it so that even if there were failures during the flight experiments with the water jet thruster, it would be fine.
Truly, he was a water attribute magician in all his glory!
Ryo was already soaking wet.
Of course, he could control the wetness and dry himself in an instant.
Initially, he had done just that, but it became tedious, and now he was letting himself get wet.
With sounds like "whoosh" and "splash," it almost seemed he was diving into the pool himself...
But that was fine.
Having fun was the most important thing!
Doing things while enjoying them was the best way to learn!
No matter how hard one frowned and strained, it wouldn’t really stick...
At that moment, a carriage bearing the emblem of the adventurers' guild arrived, and a stern-looking man with a frown stepped out.
He had a frown when he stepped down, but upon seeing the towering wall of water in front of him, his expression turned to one of bewilderment.
"Oh, Hugh!"
During one of his hundred jumps with the water jet thruster, Ryo confirmed the arrival of the Guild Master, Hugh McGrath, as he stepped out from the carriage.
In an instant, Ryo erased the massive pool and landed in front of Hugh.
"It's rare for you to come here."
That's right; when there was business, Ryo was summoned to the guild.
"Well, please come over to the house. I'll prepare some coffee."
"O-okay..."
Saying just that, Ryo quickly headed towards the house.
While using the water jet thruster.
He still couldn’t control it as well as Sera’s wind attribute magic, but he had become quite adept at it.
From a distance, one might have seen Ryo bouncing toward the house.
When Hugh came to his senses, he hopped back into the carriage and instructed the driver to take him to Ryo's house.
After all, it was still four hundred meters away from where they were.
Walking would take more than five minutes... Farmers generally have large yards.
The carriage waited in front of the house, and Hugh politely entered through the double doors at the front.
That was how it usually was.
Those accustomed to "Room 10," like Abel or Sera, would use the side entrance.
Inside the house, a pleasant aroma of coffee wafted through the air.
"Hugh, this way."
From the back of the right-hand side, Ryo's voice called out to Hugh, who then made his way over.
There, a reception set awaited, and in the corner of the table were a French press with ground coffee beans and hot water, along with an hourglass.
The coffee aroma was emanating from there.
However, oddly enough, the French press appeared to be made of ice.
"Ah, Ryo is a water attribute magician after all."
Hugh muttered softly but then realized the contradiction in his own words.
An ice container... yet it was filled with hot water and steam was rising from it.
"Isn't that strange?"
He instinctively touched it but found it was not hot.
While steam was indeed rising, indicating the water was hot, the French press itself wasn't warm.
No, not only that... it was not cold either despite being made of ice.
At that moment, Ryo entered with a tray carrying two cups.
"Ah, please sit on that sofa."
He said this as he placed the tray on the table.
Just as the hourglass had finished, Ryo pressed down on the French press.
The grounds sank to the bottom, leaving only clear coffee on top.
As he poured it into the cups, the coffee aroma filled the room even more.
