Note From Developer: I’m a big fan of Chinese web novels, but I often came across great stories with poor translations. That’s why I started this website! My goal is to make this the best web novel translation site out there. If you have any suggestions or feedback, feel free to reach out on Discord or Instagram.

"It's my first ceiling."
The first words I said after being reincarnated... It's a phrase close to a classic... though a bit different.
But classics are important.
It's not a luxurious bed with a canopy...
If there was a canopy, I wouldn't be able to see the ceiling at all...
By the standards of modern Japan, it's naturally a shabby bed.
It's simply a wooden floor covered with straw, and on top of that, there's just one piece of cloth.
That said, if I consider the cultural level around pre-Renaissance Europe, it could be considered a decent bed. It's not a noble mansion, after all.
What I'm wearing is the same as when I died on Earth. The shoes are the same. I have no other belongings.
After getting out of bed, I first explored the house.
There was a bedroom, a living room, a kitchen, and a bathroom.
"A bath!?"
I had never heard of baths existing in pre-Renaissance Europe.
"Well, there were large public baths in the Roman era, so I guess it's not impossible. As a Japanese person, I'm incredibly grateful... Ah, since I'm Japanese, maybe Michael (alias) made this for me. Michael (alias)... he's a capable guy!"
Whether Michael (alias) is male or not is still unknown.
Moreover, my knowledge is significantly mistaken, as public baths did exist in medieval Europe.
However, it is a fact that the concept of hygiene was lacking, and those public baths became breeding grounds for infectious diseases, which is quite ironic.
On the table in the living room, there were two books and a knife. Next to them was a sheet of paper.
"Food is in the outdoor storage. It’s a freezer, so it will keep. by Michael (alias)"
"I knew my thoughts were being read..."
You don't want to make a capable guy your enemy.
The books were not heavy tomes stored in a university library's rare book section... but rather ordinary ones... yes, books that seemed to have been made after the development of movable type printing on Earth.
"Books? Not parchment, but paper? Is this a world with paper?"
"Monsters Encyclopedia: Beginner's Edition"
"Plant Encyclopedia: Beginner's Edition"
"What is this...?"
In other words, it seems like there is no classic reincarnation skill like "Appraisal."
"I did say there was no level system or skill system..."
Both books have quite understandable illustrations.
This aspect is very appreciated.
The knife is a sturdy one, about twenty centimeters in blade length.
If you were to take only one thing to a deserted island, what would it be?
The classic answer to that question is a knife.
"Classics are the righteous path! Classics are supreme!"
I sheathed the knife at my waist for now.
Looking around, there didn't seem to be anything else of note.
Then, I opened the door leading outside.
What met my eyes was the sun shining brightly.
A carpet of grass surrounding the house.
And beyond that, a forest.
The expression "dense" fits perfectly; it's a forest where I can't see very far into.
In the opposite direction, there is a similar forest.
Just beyond that... I could see a mountain that seemed to reach the sky, though it was likely quite far away.
This place I was transferred to seems to have a warm climate, but there is snow on the top of that mountain.
"Are there dragons up there...? Yeah, let's avoid getting close."
I firmly vowed, speaking aloud.
I wasn't hungry yet.
In that case, there are things I must do.
No, since I've come to this world of "swords and magic," there are indeed things I want to try.
Yes, I want to actually use magic.
"I can only use water attribute magic. And imagery is important for casting spells."
For some reason, I raised my right hand.
While picturing water flowing from the tip of my right hand, I tried to chant.
"Come, water!"
Plop.
A ball of water about the size of a cup flowed from my right hand and fell to the ground.
My first experience with magic!
Objectively speaking, it was such a pitiful achievement, but that was that.
Having successfully cast my first spell filled me with emotion.
"Magic really exists in this world..."
I was so happy that I kept repeating it.
"Come, water!"
