The Water Magician

Chapter 19: Abrasive Jet 💨

Published: July 4, 2025

The next day.

During the morning running training, Ryo continued to search for the optimal solution.

"I thought about this yesterday too, but this magical control at the molecular level feels like it uses an incredible amount of magical power."

Like most things, detailed tasks require careful attention.

Magical power manipulation is not easy when it comes to fine adjustments.

After running for over five hours, the morning training finally came to an end.

However, Ryo had yet to find the optimal size of the microscopic ice crystals as an abrasive material.

So far, he had determined it to be somewhere between sixty thousand and one hundred sixty thousand molecules.

But after just the morning magic manipulation, Ryo’s magical power was almost depleted.

It wasn't something that could be measured numerically, but he had developed an intuitive sense of "I’m about to collapse...".

"I'll skip the magical manipulation in the afternoon. Alright, let's practice swinging and read a book instead."

Ryo felt uneasy if he didn’t move his body... he was almost muscle-headed.

Slowly, he practiced each swing with all his might.

Since he was basically living a slow life, there was no need to rush.

The 'Monsters Encyclopedia: Beginner Edition' that Michael (alias) had prepared at home covered quite a lot of monsters.

Of course, since it was the 'Beginner Edition', there were probably intermediate and advanced monsters not included in it, but so far, Ryo hadn’t encountered any of those.

However, this 'Monsters Encyclopedia: Beginner Edition' had two pages at the end that could be considered an appendix titled 'Special Rank Edition', featuring two monsters.

One was the 'Dragon'.

The other was the 'Demon'.

These two 'Special Rank Edition' entries were written in a different handwriting compared to the previous 'Beginner Edition'. It was possible that only these pages had been added by Michael (alias).

Dragon: One of the apex creatures in Fai

Habitat: Worldwide

Lifespan: From several thousand years to several hundred thousand years

Strength: Ranges from weak to strong (even the weak ones can easily obliterate a city by themselves)

Notes: If encountered, run away. The chances of escaping are slim.

(Wow, it really conveys that they are incredibly strong. If you meet one, it’s the end, huh? In the case of monsters in the 'Beginner Edition', it usually lists attack methods or special techniques, but nothing like that is mentioned for dragons. It’s probably on a completely different level.)

Demon: Not a fallen angel... its origins are unknown.

Habitat: Worldwide

Lifespan: Unknown

Strength: Ranges from weak to strong (even the weak ones can easily obliterate a city by themselves)

Notes: Pray that you don’t encounter one.

(Most likely, this was written by Michael (alias)… he said his job was to 'manage' this world… so why is it 'its origins are unknown'? And what about the last note, 'Pray that you don’t encounter one'… what does that mean?)

"I wonder if people aiming to be the strongest in the world have to fight against things like these. It sounds really tough. Yeah, there's absolutely no way I could do that. In reincarnation stories, aiming to be the strongest in the world is standard, but that's a standard I can leave aside; it has nothing to do with me. What I aim for is a slow life!"

After a night's sleep, Ryo’s magical power was restored.

Today, he was determined to tackle the abrasive jet problem.

He firmly vowed in his heart.

One hour after making that vow...

"The optimal solution is between ninety thousand and one hundred thousand!"

He finally solved it.

"Fufufu, I won."

Yes, Ryo had achieved victory.

Now, all that was left was to generate a large amount of ice crystals made of these ninety thousand water molecules!

Originally, even this was supposed to be difficult.

However, Ryo, although unaware, had significantly improved his magical control through this molecular manipulation.

In just about ten seconds, he produced a mountain of ice abrasives in his left hand.

He visualized in his mind.
