Chapter 162: Demon Insect 🐜

Once the explanation was finished, Goro once again suggested Kona Coffee.

Of course, the four in Room 10 accepted it.

For the members of Dragon's Agito who had refused to drink it again, Goro called his secretary and instructed him to guide them to the accommodations and such.

As Dragon's Agito left, the coffee arrived, and the four, including Goro, slowly began to drink.

Originally, it seemed that after the explanation in this room, both parties were supposed to be taken together to the accommodations for further explanation.

When considering efficiency, there was no other way to think about it.

That’s why the explanation in this room was conducted with both parties together.

However, the party compatibility was the worst...

It was primarily due to the one-sided backlash from Dragon's Agito...

That’s why, if he offered coffee again, Room 10 would stay, and Dragon's Agito would likely leave first.

It was quite a smart division.

As he drank Kona Coffee, Ryo pondered such things.

“I'll exclude the idea of both parties being together from future plans,” Goro said with a wry smile while holding his coffee.

Hearing this, the four smiled wryly.

Apologizing felt wrong somehow... but then again, it didn’t feel right to criticize them when they weren't around, yelling that they were the ones at fault...

So, they could only smile wryly.

The five took about fifteen minutes to slowly finish their coffee.

Afterward, Goro guided them to the accommodations and the dining hall, conveying several points of caution for use.

“It’s true that there have been a series of disappearances among the villagers, leading to growing anxiety. However, fortunately or unfortunately, the large population has mitigated that. If this were a small, ordinary village, the villagers would be overcome with anxiety.”

Goro paused after saying that.

“I think this request involves various difficult issues, but I ask for your cooperation.”

He bowed his head to the four.

“Now, it’s four in the afternoon. There are less than three hours until sunset. What shall we do?”

Nils said while looking at his favorite pocket watch.

“For now, how about we visit the farm? We might be able to hear something from the people working there,” Eto suggested, and the other three agreed.

The farm was the vast coffee plantation seen deep in the village when they arrived.

Ryo, who loved coffee, had never been to a coffee plantation.

There, coffee trees as tall as a person were lined up, spaced about one to one and a half meters apart, extending all the way into the distance...

An overwhelming sight spread out before them.

“Wow...”

Ryo couldn’t help but murmur.

The farmers were hand-picking only the ripe fruits from the coffee trees.

In the distance, a wind attribute mage was using air slash-type magic to cut the grass between the trees... what a fantasy!

“Alright, let’s go.”

The other three didn’t seem as moved as Ryo.

This fact made Ryo feel a little down...

After some discussions with the farmers, they were shown the infamous insect.

That said, since they squash it as soon as they find it, they had to start searching anew.

The one guiding the four was a young man named Tacca, who had just come of age.

Tacca looked around the trees where the insects were frequently found.

Three minutes later, the four were called by Tacca.

“This insect here.”

Tacca pointed to a jet-black insect that was about half the size of a pinky nail, including its outstretched legs, about the same size as a pinky nail.

“What a strange insect,” Ryo muttered.

“Ryo?”

Nils heard his murmur and asked him.

“It has ten legs.”

“Indeed,” Amon also leaned in to see and murmured.

“By the way, aren’t most insects six-legged? But spiders have eight legs, right?”

Nils recalled the insects he knew and landed on spiders.

“Yeah. I learned that spiders are related to horseshoe crabs and scorpions.”

“Scorpions are the ones with poison in their tails and big pincers, living in deserts, right? Long ago, my grandfather showed me one preserved in alcohol. Is a spider one of those relatives...?”
