A few days before Ryo and Prince Willy's arrival at the Royal Capital Crystal Palace, two adventurers were standing in front of the Lord's Manor in the largest town of the frontier, Run.
They were Rha, a swordsman from the c-rank party "Switchback," and Sue, a scout.
The two were waiting for the person they were looking for after asking the guards to arrange a meeting.
After waiting for ten minutes,
“Sorry to keep you waiting, Sue, Rha,”
came the voice of Sera, a b-rank adventurer and knight order swordsmanship instructor.
“No, it’s alright. Sorry for the sudden visit, Ms. Sera,”
Sue said, bowing her head.
By the way, Rha was stiff as a board.
Sera, commonly known as the "Sera of the Wind," had already become a legendary figure in the adventurers' guild due to her overwhelming strength and equally stunning beauty.
Being an elf, she was not only a powerful mage who could wield wind magic but also a swordsman of extraordinary skill.
Rha's reaction was quite normal.
It seemed that Sue, who could talk without any issues, and generally female adventurers, were able to converse more easily.
“Well, actually, we went to the Duchy of Inberri on a request with Ryo, but Ryo is delayed for some reason. He asked me to bring a letter to you… so I have it here.”
Sue said as she handed the letter she received from Ryo to Sera.
“I see. He’s still not back… Thank you, Sue. I’ll head back to my room and read this right away.”
“No, then, excuse us.”
After saying that, Sue took Rha, who was still frozen, and they left.
The guards on duty couldn’t understand why Rha had been brought along.
Once the two had gone, Sera casually opened the letter.
Although she had said she would read it back in her room, she was very curious about the contents.
After reading it once… and then reading it again carefully… she collapsed to her knees.
“L-lady Sera?!”
A guard exclaimed in surprise as he called out to her.
“No, I’m fine, it’s nothing to worry about.”
Sera raised her right hand to stop the guard and slowly stood up.
Then, she began to walk towards the manor, swaying slightly.
“Royal Capital… Royal Capital… Royal Capital…”
She muttered those words to herself.
After walking for a while and arriving in front of the manor, she lifted her face with determination and began to walk strongly.
Her destination was the knight commander’s office.
In front of the knight commander’s office, two knight order members were standing as usual.
“I want to see Lord Neville.”
Sera’s expression showed that she had made a firm decision about something.
The knight members had never seen this expression before.
“Y-yes, please wait a moment.”
Saying that, one of them knocked on the door.
“Lady Sera is here.”
“Let her in.”
A deep voice from inside responded.
Sera entered the office.
“Oh, Sera, what’s going on?”
The knight commander, Neville Black, greeted her.
Without saying a word, Sera walked up to the desk and slammed her hands down, leaning toward Neville.
“Lord Neville! Is there any plan for the knight order to go to the Royal Capital soon? There must be, right? There has to be!”
“W-what’s with this sudden urgency, Sera? Calm down.”
Even Neville, who told her to calm down, was not calm at all.
He was overwhelmed by Sera’s aura, a sense of urgency that was almost palpable.
“Y-yes, there is a plan to go to the Royal Capital… Ah, yes, there is. The royal family has commissioned the knight order to transport the magic stones they purchased additionally. We are leaving tomorrow with a team of eight. The personnel have already been selected…”
“I see. I want to be included in that. I will pay the extra travel expenses later. After all, I’m a swordsmanship instructor, and I’m also concerned about whether the knights will manage well.”
“B-but you’ve never done anything like this before…”
“Lord Neville! Is it fine for me to join?”
“Ah, yes, that’s no problem.”
