With Jiz’s wings, I soared high into the sky.
The pale phosphorescent glow of the wings’ flapping was so beautiful and fantastical that even I, who was controlling them, couldn’t help but be mesmerized.
It was a natural sensation for any human.
If someone else were flying through the sky with such glowing wings, I would have thought they were an angel descending from the heavens.
There was another equally enchanting and beautiful sight.
The sky was clear and bright.
On the ground, it was swelteringly hot—so much so that if the ice stored underground during winter wasn’t brought out, it would be unbearable.
As far as the eye could see, it was a perfect sunny day, except for one particular spot a few kilometers away.
A pillar of rain.
A single cumulonimbus cloud had formed there, pouring down a torrential rain that looked like a pillar or even a curtain.
The volume of rain was incredible, resembling a guerrilla downpour so intense that one might mistake it for a storm.
“Amazing, Leviathan.”
I murmured this, slowly flapping my wings as I descended to the ground.
In the garden of the Former Prince Thirteen’s Residence, a young girl stood alone.
She looked about ten years old.
Her shining golden hair exceeded her height by a great deal, cascading down to the ground like a waterfall.
She possessed all the elements of dignity, her eyes shining with a thoughtful light.
Leviathan.
The soul of the Awakened Water Demon Sword manifested in human form.
“I saw it—the rain. Incredible. In that instant, wasn’t that amount of rain enough to supply the Imperial Capital’s water for a whole month? It’s a shame there’s no reservoir there.”
“That is only possible because of the master’s power. The stronger the master is, the more I can manifest that power.”
“Is that how it works?”
“That rain is the master’s power itself. If you think it’s amazing, then the master is even more so.”
I see.
Then if I become even stronger...
Just as I started thinking about water control, Leviathan spoke with an even stronger gaze.
“I won’t fall behind even to Bahamut. From now on, I wish to devote all my strength for my master’s sake.”
“You and Bahamut are both my treasures. But if that’s how you feel, then compete and raise your powers even more for me.”
“—Understood!”
True to the light in her eyes, Leviathan answered with deep thought and strong reason.
Her personality seemed to have shifted slightly since awakening—or so I thought.
“—!”
“Eek!”
A maid screamed from behind.
Turning around, I saw Jiji the maid sitting on her backside, looking terrified.
Upon closer inspection, a stain was spreading across her skirt in real time.
She must have wet herself out of fear—understandable.
“Leviathan.”
I turned back and calmed her down.
“You must know her face since she came in after you; she’s Jiji, the maid.”
“...”
Her expression instantly changed.
Leviathan’s previously intellectual demeanor disappeared, replaced by an angry look.
“It is utterly disrespectful to speak to the master so abruptly.”
“People usually speak abruptly. Unless you notice someone at the same time face-to-face, it’s always sudden.”
I gave a small bitter smile.
Just as I thought it was Leviathan, it was really Leviatan.
She truly looked like a spoiled child, just as her appearance suggested.
“Anyway, I carefully select my maids, and they are all people loyal to me. There’s no need for such intimidation; it would only interfere when I use them.”
“...Understood.”
Leviathan withdrew her threat.
Jiji visibly relaxed.
“Go change... Ah, wait, what happened?”
“Ah... y-yes.”
Still trembling with fear, Jiji nervously reported.
“Don... Don Oats has arrived.”
“Let him in.”
“Y-yes.”
Jiji hurriedly left the spot as if fleeing.
In her place appeared the Fourth Prime Minister, Don Oats.
