The girl who came out from the demonic beasts, to cut to the chase, was an elf. She was a very beautiful girl, so pretty she made the Human race’s top princesses look like trash; her ears were sharp and pointed sideways. A trait of the elf.

But elves, who love nature and the Sacred Tree with all their hearts, shouldn’t come out of their territory, the Forest, easily. Besides, commander saran had told me the Elf race were long-lived and arrogant, hating and despising Humans who cut down trees. So half-elves shouldn’t exist.

I couldn’t believe she was of the Elf race until I saw her ears and face, but it wasn’t a dream — it was real. Even from her clothes I could tell the fabric was more luxurious than what the king or princess wore. She was probably some elf daughter of decent standing.

“Ah, what a troublesome find.”

Even saying that, I prepared two meals properly. I must be a real softie.

“I’m free. I might as well try the world eye.”

Until now I hadn’t used it because of time and because extra skills were flagged as dangerous for me due to shadow magic; I didn’t dare try it in the castle. If it went berserk like the shadow magic, that would be a real problem.

But this was a labyrinth, and there was only an unfamiliar girl sleeping next to me. The only sacrifices would be me and this girl. Seize the opportunity, I activated the world eye relying on the sensations in my body.

The volume of information was so overwhelming I pressed my head and sat down. Severe headache, dizziness, nausea.

“...huff, huff!”

When the pain finally eased and I opened my eyes, status-plate-like boards were appearing here and there in the air. Apparently world eye, once activated, floods you with a massive amount of information regardless of your will.

I deactivated the world eye and collapsed, exhausted. As I thought, you can’t just use extra skills willy-nilly. I’m somewhat accustomed to pain from training with commander saran, but if Mr. Sano had taken that pain he’d probably have screamed, fainted, and gone mad.

It was only for an instant, but I felt like I’d seen something I shouldn’t have, and... I don’t want this world’s future shown to me.

The true power of this skill surely isn’t limited to viewing an opponent’s stats. If I wanted, it would probably show me everything about this world, even the future.

Not that I plan to use it for that. Even if I knew the future, I don’t care about this world, and I’m already full on the cheat of presence concealment. I don’t need more. Being able to see stats is enough.

While I was deciding how to handle the world eye, I completely forgot the girl had woken up.

I sighed at the beautiful girl every guy in the world would want to date, and called out anyway. Girls like this usually have terrible personalities, I figured. I had zero expectations.
