Noah resumed the previous conversation as if the wyvern attack had never happened. At least I didn't have to start by remembering what we were talking about, but I wish she'd stop treating monster attacks as if they were just part of everyday life.
Suppressing a sigh, I made a suggestion.
"In that case, wouldn't it be better to pick someone who doesn't use much magical power in combat? Exclude anyone who needs magic to fight. Also exclude two people as backup healers just in case."
Hosoyama and Ueno should preserve their magical power for when they're injured, and me, Yo, the hero, Kyousuke, Nanase, and Tsuda will need magic in battle. That leaves Crow, Noah, Mr. Zeal, Amaryllis, and Kazuki as candidates. Mr. Zeal is a borderline case, but for now we already have more than enough combat power with just me, Kyousuke, the hero and Yo, so I thought it would be okay to include him as a candidate.
"Then, shall I volunteer?"
Amaryllis raised her hand from among the five people meeting my gaze. Stubborn but shy and not prone to asserting herself, Amaryllis' rare action drew everyone's attention. Under those stares she tried to hide behind the nearby Hosoyama. Due to the difference in build she wasn't hiding at all.
Amelia and I checked Amaryllis' magical power with the world eye.

Indeed, her magical power is outstanding. Perhaps due to level differences, she has less than the hero, but if their job levels were equal Amaryllis would likely have more magical power.
From what I've heard, apothecary work requires only a small amount of magic, and her Demon Eye, if kept active, consumes almost no magic. Brewing potions in a cauldron can be handled with everyday magic using Demon Stones, so she normally has spare magical power.
That makes Amaryllis an ideal candidate to supply magical power to Amelia as an assistant.
"So Amaryllis really does have a lot of magical power."
Noah spoke as if she already knew the numbers, though others shouldn't normally see stats. Amaryllis blushed at the comment. There was an atmosphere as if Mr. Zeal, Crow, Ria and Amelia also knew this—maybe it's common knowledge in this world.
"There's an old saying. 'Those blessed by magical power are beautiful.' I thought it was nonsense, but looking at Miss Amelia and Miss Amaryllis makes me almost believe it."
Yo grumbled from my shoulder.
Indeed, most people I've met in this world with abundant magical power could be called attractive, even if in different ways.
"Not nonsense. Statistically speaking, high magical power does correlate with favorable appearance. There was a time when people tried to estimate a newborn's magical capacity by looking at their face."
Noah frowned. As someone who'd had children, she seemed to have personal feelings about it.
"A-anyway, if Amelia can't replenish magic during battle, then Amaryllis will supply it. Thank you."
The hero cut in and reset the conversation that had been veering off.
I put a hand to my chin and voiced another thought.
"If having a lot of magic is fine, why not have Amelia and Amaryllis be the main suppliers, and before they take turns resting each person pours an appropriate amount of their remaining magic into the ship?"
Having more magical power isn't a problem; it's the lack of it that's dangerous.
Noah, who knows the ship best, nodded in agreement.
"A bit extra should be fine for the Ogre King's Demon Stone. Right... for now we'll divide into three squads. It'll take about three days to reach Demon Clan territory. We'll take breaks and maintain watch in half-day shifts. When the watch ends and sleep begins, people should pour their remaining magic into the ship."
