After finishing our final preparations, we set out carrying our inspected weapons and a small amount of food.
"I need an Ogre's innards right now."
I muttered to myself, and a red light leaked from the ring.
The light showed the direction we were to go.
I took the lead and stepped forward in that direction, with Kyousuke and Mr. Zeal following.
"This direction is even closer to Demon Clan territory than our base," I muttered and frowned.
The demonic beasts felt stronger the closer we got to Demon Clan territory.
Any Ogre able to move near Demon Clan territory would likely be among the strongest in this forest. It wouldn't be surprising if it were tougher than the beasts from the labyrinth's lowest levels or even Yoru.
I've leveled up since then too, but I might not be able to defeat one unscathed.
Maybe it was a mistake to put Ria and Tsuda in a different group.
"By the way, how does Mr. Noah make flying possible? If she’s carrying all of us, you'd need something like a small aircraft."
Me, Amelia, Yoru, and the seven heroes—that’s already ten people. Add Crow and Noah and it’s twelve.
Thanks to the hero we had a rough explanation of the mechanism, and magic could handle the parts we didn’t understand. Still, it seemed implausible to Kyousuke and Mr. Zeal that Mr. Noah could carry so many by herself.
Keeping my face toward the red light, I explained the Extra Skill Amelia and I have, 'world eye'.
"A skill that lets you see stats... Is there really such a skill?"
Unlike Kyousuke, who sounded impressed, Mr. Zeal’s eyes widened in surprise.
Had Commander saran not told him about my stats? Wait—back then I hadn’t even explained what 'world eye' was to Commander saran because I didn’t fully understand it myself.
"It’s my Extra Skill. I don't fully grasp the skill either, but for now I can see an opponent’s skills. So far it has never been blocked."
There were targets I hadn’t looked at due to my own oversight or lacked enough magical power to see, but no one had ever directly blocked it.
Hearing that, Mr. Zeal nodded as if satisfied.
"Indeed, if it's an Extra Skill, it's possible."
Extra Skills are superior versions of normal skills. My 'world eye' could probably be stopped if an opponent had a concealment-type Extra Skill. Still, few even among the Demon Clan seem to possess Extra Skills, so that worry can be set aside for now.
"But 'world eye'... Is that really just a skill to view others' stats?"
Kyousuke murmured, hand under his chin. I involuntarily tensed.
When I first used 'world eye' in the Cantinen Labyrinth, I saw a meaningful scene: the heroes appearing dead, and me the only one standing. I had a vague premonition that this scene could become reality, and since then I avoided using 'world eye' except to check enemy stats.
Maybe because of that, my status levels haven't risen, but Amelia, who probably uses it more often than I do, has leveled up considerably. I wonder how much Amelia can see now.
"I don't know. But I don't want to see any more than that."
Why I saw that vision, whether it was foresight—it’s intriguing, but I felt I shouldn't look further. I've learned the hard way in the Cantinen Labyrinth that it's best to follow such instincts.
"I think that's for the best. I don't know why, but I feel the same."
Kyousuke was probably using his skill 'intuition' unconsciously. His 'intuition' has been strong since he was first summoned. My own feeling likely stemmed from 'danger sense'.
"Alright. We should be close."
The red light still pointed one way, but its sweep had widened.
The mood behind me shifted at my words. Kyousuke, like me, was acclimating to this world.
"It's weird we haven't met any monsters until now. Stay alert."
We each kept our weapons ready, though none were drawn. Given how many monsters attacked us before reaching the base, it’s reasonable to assume that a place closer to Demon Clan territory than the base near Beastmen territory is only accessible to truly powerful monsters.
So far, neither my presence detection nor my danger sense had detected any irregularities. In fact, the lack of detection itself felt wrong.
