“Hey, did I see wrong? That guy from the True Dragon Tribe really went in there?” A middle-aged venerable nudged his friend beside him, his eyes wide with disbelief.
“It seems you didn’t see wrong; I saw it too,” his friend rubbed his eyes, his expression equally dazed.
“How could he remain unscathed on top of the red and black flames?”
“Could it be that the red and black flames deep down don’t harm people at all?”
The most incredulous were the Fire Phoenix Heir and the others. They had arrived here over half a month earlier than Qin Chen, but what was the result? Qin Chen, who had just arrived, unexpectedly entered the depths of the sea of flames before them, leaving them speechless and flushed with embarrassment.
However, Qin Chen's success instantly invigorated them.
“Elder Mu Luan!” The Fire Phoenix Heir immediately looked towards a venerable from his Fire Phoenix Clan. This venerable was sent by the clan to protect him, possessing great strength, and was currently the one with the most insights regarding the golden and white flames.
“Hmm.” Elder Mu Luan nodded, his gaze serious. Following Qin Chen’s method, he gradually walked towards the depths of the sea of flames along the boundary line.
However, Elder Mu Luan was much slower than Qin Chen. After a full hour, he finally reached the depths of the sea of flames, and his gaze fell upon the floating flames.
“Gold, red, white, black…” Elder Mu Luan murmured. As someone of his stature, he observed with extreme caution, deeply noting the colors of the flames that Qin Chen had previously jumped upon.
Although he didn’t understand why Qin Chen jumped across the flames in that order, at least he realized that this four-flame sequence was feasible and successful.
He fixed his gaze ahead and saw a golden flame slowly floating towards him.
Whoosh! A cold glint flashed in his eyes, and his body swayed as he jumped onto the golden flame.
In the distance, everyone’s breath halted. They widened their eyes, not daring to make a sound.
Elder Mu Luan landed on the golden flame and instantly stabilized his position.
He succeeded.
Everyone was overjoyed; the golden flame could indeed support a person. Not only could the True Dragon Tribe members stand on it, but they could too.
At that moment, Elder Mu Luan saw a blood-colored flame floating towards him and jumped onto it again, standing on top of it once more. Surprisingly, the blood-colored flame did not burn him.
This made everyone feel excited again.
However, before they could fully celebrate, Elder Mu Luan’s expression turned slightly fearful. He sensed a terrifying power emanating from the blood-colored flame, and he couldn’t find the white flame in front of him for a moment.
“Not good!” He exclaimed, his face suddenly changing, and then he leaped off the blood-colored flame.
Boom! At that moment he jumped, his right foot ignited fiercely, engulfed by the blood-colored flame.
“Ah!” Elder Mu Luan let out a wretched scream. His eyes flashed with determination, and with a swift strike of his right hand, he severed his own right leg. He emitted a piercing cry of pain as his right leg was burnt to ash, and he fell backward, landing on the golden flame before sliding down to the boundary line of the sea of flames, drenched in cold sweat and agony.
Fortunately, he acted decisively. The moment he sensed danger, he jumped out of the blood-colored flame and immediately severed his right leg. Otherwise, he would have been completely annihilated.
“Elder Mu Luan!” The Fire Phoenix Heir cried out in shock. Elder Mu Luan was the strongest venerable in their clan, and yet he had failed?
“I understand now!” At that moment, the Golden Crow Prince’s eyes flashed, drawing everyone’s attention.
“This flame can indeed support a person crossing over, but the time spent on different flames varies. You must find the next flame in the shortest time possible; if you can’t find it in time, you will be burned to nothingness on the spot,” the Golden Crow Prince explained.
