As Wu Liangyu's figure vanished into the darkness, like a shadow that disappeared without a trace, Zhu Xun and the others displayed expressions of astonishment.
“The Shadow Arts of Elder Wu are becoming increasingly terrifying.”
“Heh, need I say more? I've heard that before Elder Wu came to Martial City, he was the leader of an assassin organization in the Great Zhao Kingdom. However, after offending the Zhao royal family, the organization was exposed, and their base was destroyed, forcing him to flee to Martial City.”
“With Elder Wu making a move, that kid is definitely dead this time. Elder Wu's assassination skills are highly admired even by the clan head.”
“Hehehe, let's wait for the good news.”
A sinister smile appeared at the corner of Zhu Xun's mouth.
In the alchemy room, Qin Chen closed the furnace, and with a bang, the lid opened, releasing over ten pills that soared into the sky and fell into Qin Chen's hands.
“Phew!”
Releasing a long breath, Qin Chen stored the pills in a jade bottle.
This was already the fifth batch of pills, and his true energy had been consumed quite a bit; he needed to recover first.
Sitting cross-legged, Qin Chen operated the Nine Star Divine Emperor Technique to restore his true energy.
In the dim corner of the Liu Pavilion, a shadow lurked like a ghost, swiftly moving within the darkness.
This shadow seemed to merge with the night; several martial artists from the Xu family patrolled within the Liu Pavilion, completely oblivious to the shadow nearby, as if it were just air.
“Hmph, let's first find out what that kid is doing, then deal with these lackeys.”
Wu Liangyu had no interest in attacking these martial artists from the Xu family. He could easily kill them in an instant, but doing so might expose his objective, which would be counterproductive.
“Let you live a bit longer.”
Blending into the darkness, Wu Liangyu searched toward the inner cabinet.
Before long, he arrived outside the alchemy room.
Peering through the window, Qin Chen was sitting cross-legged in meditation.
In the entire Liu Pavilion, aside from the Xu family members, it seemed that this kid was the only one present; there was no sign of the expert mentioned by the clan head.
Hiding in the corner, Wu Liangyu thought to himself: Since that's the case, I'll take this kid back and let the clan head interrogate him; the truth will surely come to light.
His figure swayed, and Wu Liangyu reached the edge of a window.
Whoosh!
A gust of wind blew past, causing the window to rattle, as if shaking from the breeze.
A shadow had silently entered the alchemy room, hiding under the shadow of the window.
“Hm?”
Qin Chen, who was meditating, opened his eyes and murmured, “Why is there such a strong wind here? Strange?”
He stood up and walked to the window, intending to close it.
Swish!
At that moment, Wu Liangyu sprang out from the shadows, raising his hand as three black tentacles formed from true energy burst forth, wrapping around Qin Chen from awkward angles.
Taking a slow step back, Qin Chen turned with a cold smile; he had no idea when the mysterious rusted sword was already drawn in his hand.
“Been waiting for you, slash!”
A sword was swung, and brilliant sword light emerged, instantly spreading an aura powerful enough to cut through everything within the alchemy room, sweeping toward Wu Liangyu.
Swish, boom!
The sword light flashed, and the three dark tentacles split apart, dissipating into nothingness.
“What? He actually discovered my presence?”
Wu Liangyu was shocked, but his eyes were colder than ever. The black light around him surged as he rapidly waved his hands, and a massive dark tentacle appeared out of thin air around Qin Chen, shaking violently as it closed in to trap Qin Chen.
“Darkness entanglement!”
The black tentacles twisted like a giant snake, the intense true energy sealing off the surrounding air, rapidly compressing into a sealed can.
Qin Chen was positioned in the center of the can, with black gas formed from the black tentacles wrapping around him, leaving no escape.
