But for them to not let him pass was a bit excessive.

"Miss, Manager Hu, we were patrolling here and discovered this person sneaking around. We told him he couldn’t go further, but he insisted on proceeding," one of the martial artists explained.

"Sneaking around?"

Qin Chen was speechless; he was being completely straightforward, yet they insisted on framing it as sneaking around.

He couldn't help but smirk.

If he were actually sneaking around, these guys probably wouldn’t even have a chance to notice him.

"Oh?"

The elder, upon hearing this, showed no reaction and clasped his hands towards Qin Chen, saying, "Please don’t take offense. We mean no harm. To be honest, we are from the Liu family of Wenyun City. We have urgent matters here. If you don’t mind, could you please take a detour? The old man thanks you in advance."

Wenyun City was a large city near the royal capital, with considerable power and many factions and families.

"Sorry, but I have urgent matters ahead as well, and it's inconvenient to take a detour," Qin Chen replied.

"Urgent matters? Ahead is a cliff, and it’s the territory of the Heaven Level Blood Beast, Iron Feather Eagle. There's no road to take. What urgent matters could you have? Clearly, you have ulterior motives."

One of the earlier individuals snorted coldly.
