Chapter 2712: Twelve Types of Materials 🧪

Published: December 27, 2024

Feeling the tense atmosphere in the arena, Qin Chen couldn't help but nod.

Tian Gong truly put a lot of effort into selecting top-tier Refiners.

The so-called activation of materials is actually quite simple.

Every material has its own characteristics. For example, the Hanxing Iron possesses the resilience of starfall iron and the coldness of the outer space. If one wishes to refine a holy weapon using Hanxing Iron, they must first fully understand its characteristics and then activate it to perfectly release those characteristics.

There are two steps involved: the first is to understand and analyze the material, and the second is to activate it.

The first step is extremely important.

If one does not understand a material and directly attempts to refine it, problems can easily arise. For instance, since Hanxing Iron is a cold attribute material, activating it with Yang Fire would damage its cold attributes, harming the material, and resulting in a decreased grade of the crafted weapon or even rendering it useless.

A powerful Refiner needs to distinguish the attributes and special properties of a material after acquiring it, treating it accordingly.

After all, some materials are exceedingly precious. If a Refiner makes a mistake and destroys the material, where can they find another once it is wasted?

The second step of activating the material is also not trivial.

Different materials require different methods of mental power activation. Each material is unique, which tests the Refiner's experience and ability.

This is actually a skill that every Refiner must master.

Both of these steps are fundamental yet crucial in the refining process. The depth of understanding and the strength of the activation technique represent a Refiner's foundational power, capable of testing their true capabilities.

The second round of assessments is to see how many materials the participants can activate within a specified time.

The more materials activated, the stronger the Refiner's understanding and operation of the materials, naturally leading to a brighter future.

Furthermore, to maintain a level of fairness, the twelve materials brought by Tian Gong are all materials that the Guanghan Mansion completely lacks, and all are Earth Grade materials.

This clearly shows Tian Gong's careful planning.

Firstly, only Earth Grade Refiners can participate in Tian Gong's refining assessments. As fellow Earth Grade Refiners, they may have experience advantages in later stages, but in the initial stages, they won't find it impossible to analyze.

Secondly, since everyone is dealing with materials they've never seen before, starting from scratch can better reflect the participants' levels of material analysis.

Tian Gong has a unique approach to assessing Refiners, beginning with formations followed by material analysis, focusing on the core, the foundation, and the most critical aspects.

They do not focus on flashy refining techniques or other aspects.

Understanding formations and materials is fundamental; these skills are difficult to improve in a short time. If one has the talent, they have it; there's no debate.

As for the refining techniques and the ratios of holy weapon materials that many Refiners usually focus on, Tian Gong does not assess those.

Because Tian Gong knows very well that refining techniques and holy weapon ratios can be learned later, only by assessing the most basic elements can they select truly powerful Refiners.

These foundational elements test a Refiner's true capabilities. As long as their foundation is solid, an early stage Earth Grade Refiner might not necessarily perform worse than a late stage Earth Grade Refiner.

"Alright, in this second round of competition, I will definitely perform a stunning comeback."

"Material analysis is my strongest suit. In this round, I must make a remarkable impact."

Many Refiners rubbed their fists, filled with confidence.

On the arena, more than three thousand participants took their positions.

Suddenly, Qin Chen sensed a subtle killing intent. Turning his head, he found Yun Mengze staring at him coldly, a chill emanating from his brow.
