Chapter 2003: Divided into Two Paths 🛤️

Published: November 30, -0001

As Ji Ruoyue unleashed the Qinglian Demon Fire, she instantly perceived the existence of the pitch-black shadow. The Moonlight Body activated immediately, and countless brilliant rainbow rays shot out in all directions. At the same time, the Sealing Sword activated, piercing straight through that pitch-black shadow.

Although the shadow could conceal itself in the void, the moment it was struck by the Sealing Sword, it emitted a terrified scream. The Qinglian Demon Fire erupted with countless green lights, which pierced into the shadow's body like fiery thorns.

"Ah..." After a sharp cry, the shadow was obliterated by the combined efforts of Qin Chen and Ji Ruoyue, like snow under the blazing sun, disappearing without a trace, turning into a wisp of green smoke. Qin Chen relaxed, and that overwhelming sense of dread vanished.

Qin Chen retracted the Qinglian Demon Fire, feeling an ominous premonition. The sudden disappearance of President Gongsun and the others was even more terrifying than he had imagined.

“Chen Shao, what was that just now?” Ji Ruoyue asked, still shaken.

“I don't know either, it seems to be related to the Demon Tribe, but it is definitely not an ordinary Demon Tribe soul.”

If it were an ordinary Demon Tribe soul, he would have sensed it immediately. This was something he had never heard of or seen before, silent and elusive.

What was even more terrifying was that this entity seemed unaffected by the might of the Thunder Sea.

One must understand that the power of thunder is the most explosive, the most fierce, and the most destructive. Any ghostly or shadowy entity cannot survive under the thunder, which represents the punishment of the Heavenly Law. Yet, that black shadow seemed completely unaffected by the thunder's power, indicating it was definitely not an ordinary ghost.

“Old Yuan, do you know what that thing is?” Qin Chen could only seek help from Old Yuan at this point.

“I don't know either. From its aura, it seems to be from the Demon Tribe, but I have never seen such a peculiar Demon Tribe soul. This doesn’t even resemble soul power; it feels like some kind of demonic soul,” Old Yuan's voice carried a hint of confusion, as if he couldn't comprehend it.

Qin Chen felt a deepening sense of unease; this Thunder Sea was even more frightening than he had imagined.

“Fu Xiong, you take Ruoyue and Qianxue back to Thunder City first.” Qin Chen said to Fu Qiankun. When the black shadow appeared, even Fu Qiankun hadn't noticed anything unusual. Perhaps it was because the shadow hadn’t targeted him, but it was enough to demonstrate its power.

“No way, Chen Shao, we can't leave you here alone; it's too dangerous,” Ji Ruoyue quickly protested.

Qin Chen shook his head: “That black shadow is too bizarre. If I’m not mistaken, the reason those powerhouses from Thunder City went missing is likely related to this shadow. Staying here will be of no use to you. My cultivation has already broken through, and with the Qin Demon Avatar and Old Yuan here, I won't be in any danger. Even if there is danger, I can handle it. At worst, I can enter the Qiankun Creation Jade Plate; your presence or absence doesn’t matter much.”

“Even if we can't help much, we can at least be there in the Qiankun Creation Jade Plate. At least we can help when needed,” You Qianxue added.

“That’s meaningless. Moreover, Mo Ka La and the Big Black Cat will be arriving at Thunder City soon. The Heavenly Emperor Mountain Master isn’t familiar with them, so your presence can facilitate better communication. If I haven’t come out in three months, you can come back to find me. With the Big Black Cat around, I will feel more at ease.”

Seeing Qin Chen so resolute, Fu Qiankun eventually agreed to his request and left with Ji Ruoyue and You Qianxue. Although Ji Ruoyue and You Qianxue were reluctant, they understood that they couldn’t change Qin Chen’s decision and could only help him more in Thunder City.

After Fu Qiankun and the others left, Qin Chen went to the area where the space had vanished and began to carefully deduce the situation.
