There are three methods to enslave the Skeleton Helmsman.
One is to use sinister techniques to refine him into a ghostly corpse. Generally, for a martial artist to be refined into a ghostly corpse, the difficulty is extremely great. Although Qin Chen had some experience in his previous life, it is still impossible for him to refine a powerful being close to the Eight Level Martial Emperor into a ghostly corpse.
However, the Skeleton Helmsman is different; he already exists as some kind of ghostly entity.
If he were to sacrifice his soul and refine him into a ghostly corpse, with careful research, Qin Chen might also be able to achieve that.
However, once he does so, the original soul would often be obliterated, becoming a mindless weapon.
The second method is to wear down the Skeleton Helmsman's soul will through secret arts, making him like a ghostly corpse. But compared to a ghostly corpse, he would still be able to utilize some martial techniques and skills, even continuing to cultivate, possessing his own thoughts and ideas. However, among all his thoughts, he would only recognize Qin Chen, treating him as the master, effectively becoming a puppet vassal.
In this case, the Skeleton Helmsman would be a living dead, equally worse than death.
The third method is to control the Skeleton Helmsman through secret techniques, while he still possesses his own autonomous consciousness. He can cultivate independently and is almost indistinguishable from an ordinary person, only submitting to Qin Chen due to the threat to his life.
Bloodhand King is a prime example of this; his life and death are in Qin Chen's control, yet he still retains his own will and can act independently.
If it were the first two methods, the Skeleton Helmsman would absolutely refuse, preferring to die.
Becoming a mindless servant is like being a puppet; if Qin Chen says to live, he lives, and if Qin Chen says to die, he dies, without rebuttal or thought. Living like this is worse than extinction—what's the meaning of such a life?
In contrast, the third method leaves at least a tiny hope for the Skeleton Helmsman.
For example, if Qin Chen dies, the Skeleton Helmsman could regain his freedom.
Or if his soul cultivation recovers, far surpassing Qin Chen, he could naturally break free from the control imposed by Qin Chen.
Thus, this method is the most suitable for him.
However, this third method requires cooperation from the one being enslaved. For ordinary martial artists, it doesn't matter, but for powerful beings like the Skeleton Helmsman, unless he is willing, even if Qin Chen wants to enslave him, it would involve great risk.
“Very well, I won't turn you into a walking corpse. I still have great use for you,” Qin Chen said with a light smile.
To him, even if a puppet is useful, it cannot compare to the Skeleton Helmsman with independent consciousness.
Moreover, how could he not know the Skeleton Helmsman's thoughts? Qin Chen is deliberately using his desire to survive to make him voluntarily submit.
Because Qin Chen has confidence in his own strength and growth, he can completely control the Skeleton Helmsman.
“Since that's the case, then don't resist!”
Buzz!
As soon as he finished speaking, a terrifying soul aura suddenly shot out from between Qin Chen's eyebrows, like a sharp arrow piercing into the Skeleton Helmsman's head.
“It’s actually the Soul Destruction Seal?”
The Skeleton Helmsman was startled, then filled with joy.
He was very familiar with this secret technique; even he had used this technique on many elders of the Blood Demon Sect.
The Soul Destruction Seal could control a martial artist's life and death, entirely relying on the other party's ability to easily shatter the soul of the enslaver using the Soul Destruction Seal, preventing any resistance from the enslaved.
However, there are also drawbacks. Once the strength of the enslaved's soul far surpasses that of the enslaver, they can preserve a fragment of their soul at the moment the Soul Destruction Seal is activated, breaking free from control.
