Three weeks have passed since joining the silver rabbits of the night sky.
During these three weeks, we have repeatedly descended to the lower layers, gathering the materials we need and strengthening our coordination. As a result, our teamwork has improved significantly.
Naturally, the original four members have become better synchronized, and I’ve also started to understand each person's thoughts.
On top of that, with Ms. Selma’s supernatural ability, we’re able to maintain constant communication.
Miscoordination has become quite rare.
We could challenge the deep layers by now, but I’m currently waiting for my sword to be completed.
Once the sword is finished, the exploration of the deep layers will finally begin.
On days when the first squad doesn’t have missions, I help Ms. Selma with clerical work or focus on training the tenth squad.
Besides that, I’ve accompanied the leader to dinners with sponsors and made greeting rounds to the executives, but nothing noteworthy happened, so I’ll skip over those details.
Right now, the members of the tenth squad are training in an indoor training hall within the grounds of the silver rabbits of the night sky.
“So tough! I want a break!”
Carol’s voice echoes through the room—a tone difficult to judge as either exhausted or still full of energy.
“Come on! Five more minutes until the break! Keep it up!”
“Waaah, master is a demon!”
In front of her, six pillars stand about two meters tall, spaced evenly about five meters apart, arranged in a circle.
I randomly cast Flash on the pillars, emitting a slightly yellowish light that isn’t too dazzling.
Carol dashes to the pillar emitting the light and touches it.
Right after she touches one pillar, I cast Flash on another, and she dashes to touch that one, repeating the process.
This forces Carol to continuously accelerate, decelerate, and change direction.
It’s a way to train agility.
Eventually, Carol will be converted from a dodge-type defender to a frontline attacker.
But even after conversion, agility remains essential.
Since Carol’s weapon is a dagger, her reach is short.
To attack, she has to get close to the enemy, and even as a frontline attacker, she won’t be completely free from incoming attacks.
Whether it’s hit-and-run tactics or dodging enemy strikes, improving agility is crucial.
You might say, “Just boost it with agility up support magic?”
But the boost from support magic depends on the person’s own abilities.
So if we raise Carol’s personal agility, she’ll benefit even more from support magic.

“Hah! Sei! Yah!”
A little distance away from Carol, Log is practicing spear forms while holding a wooden spear.
After discussing with the party, it was decided that Log would also join the frontline, so I started teaching him spear fighting.
We chose the spear because it’s a weapon with good reach that’s relatively easy to handle.
To reduce the chance of being overwhelmed by demonic beasts before buffs can be refreshed, it’s better to attack while keeping distance from enemies.
It’s been about two weeks since I started teaching spear techniques.
He’s slowly getting the hang of it.
To be able to do this much in such a short time, Log might have some talent for spear fighting.
Judging by his current moves, it might be time to move on to practical training.
However, I can only teach the basics of spear fighting.
So from now on, I plan to ask Will for further instruction.
Since the double-edged sword requires mastery not only of swordsmanship but also of staff techniques, Will is more knowledgeable about spear fighting than I am.
I’ve already gotten his permission beforehand.
He can’t come every day without exploration missions, but it seems he’ll come about once a week.
I’m very grateful.

“Two ninety-seven... two ninety... two eighty-three... two seventy-six, ah, left hand—”
Sophie sits next to me on a chair, muttering numbers aloud.
She occasionally taps her thighs lightly with her left or right hand.
I’ve had Sophie practice parallel construction exercises.
