“Today was quite an eventful day…”
After the training exploration ended, we newcomers were sent home immediately.
But I guess it can’t be helped. After everything that happened.
My older sister still hasn’t come back yet.
She’s probably still rushing around all over the place, isn’t she?
Lately, my sister has seemed really busy.
I’m so worried she might get sick from all the stress.
Once I got home, I ate right away, took a bath, and changed into my pajamas.
Now, I’m trying to remember everything from today to write the training exploration report that the teacher asked us to submit.
First, Mr. Orun taught me a lot of things.
About the mindset of a mage, parallel construction, and so on.
It’s all really difficult for me right now, but I want to keep learning little by little.
On the way, I fought alongside Logan and Caroline-chan, but our teamwork wasn’t as good as usual.
There were no orders from Logan, and Caroline-chan would rush in right away.
I was too scared of friendly fire to really join the fight much.
I wonder if someday I’ll be able to have teamwork like my sister’s party?
I realized I shouldn’t be so shy; I need to try harder to be more proactive in conversations.
And then, of course, that black dragon crashed in at the end.
I don’t know the details, but I heard it’s the boss of the deep layer, one even my sister’s party couldn’t defeat.
When that dragon glared at me, I felt more fear than when I was surrounded by Orcs the other day.
Just thinking about it now makes my body tremble.
I thought it’s only natural that my sister and the others lost to such a being.
I feel like I finally truly understood how terrifying the deep layer really is.
But then Mr. Orun defeated it all by himself!
“I got saved again…”
This is the second time he’s helped me.
I’m so grateful to Mr. Orun that I can’t thank him enough.
I don’t know how I can ever repay this debt…
If Mr. Orun ever gets into trouble, I’ll help with all my might!
Though I can’t even imagine such a situation…
Still, Mr. Orun’s serious expression when fighting the dragon was so cool…
Maybe it’s because he usually has such a gentle face that it struck me even more.
Is that what they call a gap? He was really awesome.
…Thinking about Mr. Orun like this is making my face feel hot…
As I fanned my face with both hands, the door to my room opened.
“I’m home…”
My sister came back.
To be honest, she looked absolutely terrible.
She seemed really exhausted.
“Welcome back, sis!”
She staggered toward her bed and then just dove right in.
“Sis, your clothes will get wrinkled! Also, can you at least take a shower before bed?”
“Hmm…”
It might be the first time in a year I’ve seen her this worn out.
More than tired, it looked like she was troubled?
“Did something happen?”
When I asked, my sister twitched slightly.
“…Sophia, what did you think watching the fight between Orun and the black dragon today?”
After a long pause, she asked.
“Huh? I thought it was amazing. Mr. Orun is so strong.”
When I honestly gave my impression, my sister just relaxed completely.
Did I say something weird?
“…Maybe it was so far beyond us that, paradoxically, the newcomers couldn’t understand it.”
“Hm? I did understand it.”
“…What?”
My sister gave me a scary look.
If a child saw that, they’d probably cry.
Don’t look at your family like that…
“Mr. Orun’s movements were really fast, and he was hopping through the air, shooting black flames from his sword, using magic I’ve never seen before, but other than that, it was basically standard tactics, right?”
“Standard tactics?”
“Yeah, since I’m a newcomer, I’ve been taking all kinds of lectures at the Exploration Management Department, right? There, they taught us the basic roles for each role, and Mr. Orun’s moves were the same as what they taught me. For example, he was acting as both a rear attacker and a defender at the same time.”
My sister’s eyes widened, and she was dumbfounded.
