Jack of All Trades, Party of None

Chapter 29: Side Hero Party: Luna - Forced Recall 🌌

Published: January 22, 2026

After leaving the Great Labyrinth, we hurriedly headed to the guild.

“This is the golden dawn! Please call the Guild Master or the Deputy Guild Master! This is an urgent matter that cannot wait! Please, immediately!”

I shouted loudly as soon as we entered the guild building.

It was improper behavior, but there was no time to worry about that now.

“The golden dawn? The hero party!? Someone quickly go fetch the Guild Master!”

One of the guild staff, noticing us, called out to others.

The golden dawn is the name of our party.

Since reaching the 94th floor, we've been more commonly called the hero party.

However, since the three of us—Mr. Orun, Mr. Oliver, and I—formed the party nine years ago when we were rookies, we have never changed this name.

The origin of this party name is something I’ll share when there’s a chance.

There’s no time for that now.

“Luna-chan, why are you so flustered? Let’s move to the conference room for now. The Guild Master will be here soon.”

Amid the commotion caused by our sudden intrusion, a female guild staff member spoke to us without concern.

She was Ms. Eleonora.

She is the guild staff member in charge of our party and has taken care of us since the formation of the golden dawn.

Seeing Ms. Eleonora eased my anxious feelings a bit.

Her calming presence and warmth are something I really want to emulate.

The room Ms. Eleonora led us to was quite spacious.

Probably because guild executives aside from the Guild Master would also be arriving.

As expected of a hero party, our influence is impressive.

To be able to gather the guild executives with just one call...

That influence was brought to us by that person, yet we have repaid that kindness with betrayal.

How can we make amends...?

As I pondered this, several guild executives, including the Guild Master, appeared in the conference room.

“I apologize for the sudden summons. Today, I have a request. I want all explorers currently in the Great Labyrinth to be forcibly recalled to the surface immediately.”

Normally, either Mr. Orun or Mr. Oliver would handle such negotiations.

With Mr. Orun absent, Mr. Oliver should be taking the lead, but he has been silent and useless so far.

Mr. Derrick and Ms. Aneli are not suited for negotiations, and we can’t entrust this to newly joined Ms. Philly.

Thus, by process of elimination, I am speaking as the representative.

“You’re heroes, so I assume you have valid reasons for this. However, we cannot simply agree to a forced recall without hearing your reasons first.”

The Guild Master asked for an explanation.

I have heard that forced recall is a very costly magic.

I was relieved that they didn’t outright reject the request.

“There’s no time for detailed explanations, so I’ll be brief. I promise to explain everything in detail once this is resolved, so please understand.”

After confirming that the Guild Master nodded, I resumed.

“The reason for this forced recall request is that the black dragon, the floor boss of the 92nd floor, is highly likely to have moved to the upper floors' boss area. If anyone encounters it now, they will lose their lives without resistance. After the recall, we will take on the task of defeating the black dragon. For now, please prioritize saving lives by carrying out the forced recall!”

My statement caused a stir among the guild executives.

It’s understandable. No one had ever heard of a floor boss moving from its designated location.

Even the usually gentle and ever-smiling Guild Master looked incredulous.

But that disbelief lasted only a moment.

They immediately moved to decide on the forced recall.

All guild executives agreed, and the forced recall was approved.

I expected some resistance, but the decision came much faster than I thought...

“Oh, is it possible to transfer only those between the 45th and 50th floors to a different location... perhaps a plaza near the Great Labyrinth?”

Based on the information I obtained, the silver rabbits of the night sky should be exploring the 45th floor by now.
