“[Multi-Barrel Spear of the Six Elements ‘Element Javelin’]!”
Standing on a platform of mana, I mercilessly unleashed a barrage of spears upon Oswell, who had fallen to the ground.
A deafening roar filled the air as a massive cloud of dust enveloped the surroundings.
From within the dust, a gigantic, red-black mass of mana hurtled toward me.
It must be a counterattack from Oswell.
“... [Reflective Barrier]”
I conjured a semi-transparent gray wall in front of me, attempting to repel the mana mass upon contact.
“—Hah!?”
However, the mana mass shattered the barrier and continued advancing toward me.
Surprised by this, I relied on my sharply enhanced dynamic vision and reflexes, boosted by [Seal Release (Calmination)], to effortlessly dodge.
The [Reflective Barrier] can reflect almost all attacks.
The only attack it failed to reflect was the one from Oliver’s rampage a year ago.
That means this mana mass just now must be of comparable power.
“Hahaha! Full power from the start, huh, Dragon Slayer! But too bad. This won’t even reach me.”
As the dust settled, Oswell stood unscathed, grinning.
(…Looks like there’s no significant difference in elemental attributes.)
Among demonic beasts, some show varying vulnerabilities depending on elemental attributes.
Right now, Oswell seems like a demon humanoid resembling Gary in his final moments two months ago when he tried to eliminate Princess Lucilla.
A demon humanoid reflects the traits of a demonic beast in human form.
It’s unclear which demonic beast Oswell has reflected within himself, but since demons can have attribute-based differences, I tested that with the [Multi-Barrel Spear of the Six Elements ‘Element Javelin’].
Discovering that there’s no significant difference is, in itself, a valuable finding.
“My experiment has only just begun! Don’t die so easily, Dragon Slayer!”
As I pondered how to corner Oswell, he sprang into action.
The dragons of mana sprouting from both his shoulders opened their mouths, gathering immense mana around them before unleashing a breath-like attack.
Though not huge in size, it contained an enormous amount of mana and moved at a considerable speed.
However, not so fast that I couldn’t react.
I moved to evade the trajectory.
—but this attack seemed to home in on me, altering its path toward my location.
“—[Fifth Form (Mont Fünf)]!”
Switching strategies to defend rather than dodge.
I transformed my magic sword into a magic shield, bracing for the impact of his attack.
“Choosing to defend immediately since dodging seems difficult. Quite a rational decision.”
“—Hah!?”
As I raised the magic shield, Oswell’s voice came from directly behind.
Despite my senses being sharpened by [Seal Release (Calmination)], I couldn’t detect his approach until I heard his voice.
“Take this, payback time!”
Oswell clasped his hands above his head and then brought them down with force.
I covered the upper part with the defensive barrier of the magic shield and used [Gravity Manipulation] to disrupt Oswell’s downward strike, but I couldn’t block it completely and ended up slammed to the ground.
“Ugh!”
I immediately activated [Rapid Healing (Exheal)] to ease the damage, but then countless icicles rained down like a storm.
Pointing the face of the magic shield overhead, I withstood the hail of icicles.
“Come on now! Adding lightning and a tornado too!”
Oswell said gleefully as multiple lightning bolts and a massive tornado charged at me.
Their power and scale surpassed even the top-tier magics [Heavenly Thunder Hammer (Mjölnir)] and [Thousand-Blade Cyclone].
On top of that, large fireballs rained down, the earth cracked from tremors — an apocalyptic disaster seemed to be unfolding around me.
The sudden environmental changes caused thick clouds to form above, blocking out sunlight.
“How about that, Dragon Slayer! This is magic that has reached the critical point of technique principles — the pinnacle of sorcery! A realm no ordinary person could reach in a lifetime! Ahahahahaha!”
