The first half is from Rain's perspective, and the latter half is from Orun’s perspective.

(How nostalgic, this feeling…)
Using space leap to outmaneuver the white serpent, I felt a wave of emotion.
It’s a sensation like I can grasp all of space itself.
A sense of omnipotence so strong I could be mistaken for thinking I can control everything at will.
It should be a detestable feeling, yet it bubbles up from deep within my heart.
Memories I want to erase, but must never forget, vividly surface in my mind.
I was born in the Principality of Hitia, a magic powerhouse located at the center of the continent.
There are several reasons why this country is called a magic powerhouse.
The biggest reason is the presence of several magical educational institutions called "academies," similar to the Noble Academy in the Nohitant Kingdom (this country).
Citizens aged five and above can enroll in these academies.
However, due to the high tuition fees, not all citizens attend.
At most, about forty percent of the populace enrolls, most of them in their early teens.
Even those who enroll often graduate quickly after completing basic theories of magic and acquiring top-tier magic or equivalent support and healing magic.
Naturally, those who don’t fit well with magic give up early and drop out.
Few remain in the academy even after reaching adulthood.
Fortunately, my family was well-off, so I entered the academy as soon as I turned five to study magic.
At enrollment, it wasn’t yet known that I was a unique mage, but even as a child I quickly grasped magical theories and had no trouble activating magic.
Within a few years, I could activate top-tier magic from every category, and the adult instructors praised me as a genius.
The defining moment came when I studied space leap, the pinnacle of magic.
The moment I saw its basic formula, I comprehended everything about it and could activate it instantly without spending time on technique construction.
That was when I realized I was a unique mage.
I was constantly called a "genius" and, knowing I was a unique mage, I became conceited.
I thought of myself as someone special.
But it’s okay.
Now I understand that I’m just an ordinary person who’s a bit good at magic.
By the time I joined the silver rabbits of the night sky, after many regrets, I no longer thought I was special.
Still, I held pride as a unique mage and as someone who studied magic at the academy.
But that pride was recently shattered.
—By Orun-kun.
His learning ability is beyond normal.
In one word: “genius.”
…Though I don’t particularly like that word.
Technique construction, the pre-stage before activating magic, means adding supplemental settings to each magic’s basic formula.
Space leap is called the pinnacle of magic because the supplemental settings it requires are far more detailed than those of other magics.
Many magics can be activated by feeling alone, but space leap absolutely cannot.
Being able to activate space leap proves deep knowledge of magic itself.
Because it’s such advanced magic, it can’t be put on standby with the technique construction complete to activate later at will.
The massive amount of supplemental settings means integrating it into parallel construction heavily burdens the brain — far more than other magics.
Therefore, space leap is not magic to be used recklessly.
This applies to Orun-kun as well.
Though he was an enchanter in golden dawn and could perform space leap, I heard he couldn’t integrate it into parallel construction.
Yet after joining the silver rabbits of the night sky and hearing about space leap from me, he quickly deepened his understanding of it.
In this white serpent battle, he initially activated four space leaps simultaneously… moving us each to different locations.
That’s my signature move as a unique mage.
In other words, no one other than me should be able to use it.
Yet Orun-kun has reached the level to wield it.
The more time I spend with him, the more I feel the reality that our abilities don’t match.
