CHAPTER 91: Winter Vacation Mercenaries
On November 18th, in the morning, Chen Chu had breakfast in the third-floor restaurant, then returned to his room to put on his battle armor and strap on his long knife. Together with Xia Youhui, he took the elevator down to the first floor.
Upon arrival, they noticed that the layout of the first floor had undergone significant changes. The reception area had several more staff members, and a sign labeled 'Mission Locations' was placed on the counter.
At the same time, a huge LCD screen was mounted on the wall behind them, displaying a high-definition map of Lestrol City and the surrounding villages.
At that moment, Liu Feng and Bai Mu were gathered around a workbench discussing something. Chen Chu curiously walked over and asked, “Mission locations, what’s that all about?”
“Chen Chu, you’re here,” Bai Mu replied.
“We just inquired; it seems the Federation has consolidated various data and has initially established an intelligence department covering all of Keluoya, divided by city.”
“Starting today, we won’t need to run around looking for traces of blood disciples anymore. We just have to wait here at the hotel for mission postings.”
“Once local departments obtain intelligence about blood disciples or rebel forces, they will release missions to us, making it faster and more accurate.”
“As for contribution points, they will be calculated based on the completion of missions, including rewards for non-killing tasks related to blood disciples.”
“This certainly makes things much more convenient,” Chen Chu nodded.
The situation in Lestrel had felt chaotic to him. Official agencies were paralyzed, law enforcement was being reestablished, and rebel followers were occasionally clashing with the military.
However, after more than ten days, the situation had finally stabilized. Yet, looking at the mission posting area, Chen Chu felt a strange sense of dissonance; it reminded him of going abroad to be a mercenary during winter vacation.
At that moment, Bai Mu urged, “Hey, has the mission refreshed yet?”
The female staff member at the workbench smiled politely and replied, “Sorry, we are still coordinating data from various departments, and there are currently no missions available.”
Just then, Liu Feixu walked out of the elevator and waved her hand, saying, “Alright, everyone disperse; organizing data takes some time.”
As the crowd started to disperse, Liu Feixu called out to Chen Chu, “Chen Chu, wait a moment.”
“What’s up, teacher?” Chen Chu paused.
Liu Feixu smiled brightly, “I just happen to have a task for you.”
“In a little over two hours, a group of freshmen will be arriving in Lestrol via plane; they are from two second-tier universities, about thirty people in total.”
“They were originally supposed to be greeted by General Zhang Hong, but he and I have urgent matters, so I’m assigning this to you.”
“Please find a few people to welcome them and also act as guides to introduce them to the situation here and what they need to pay attention to.”
“As for the reward, it will be five contribution points.”
After saying this, Liu Feixu hurriedly left the hall, seemingly with something urgent to handle.
“Chen Chu, Chen Chu, pick me!”
“Chen Chu, aren’t we good brothers?”
“A Chu, I want to go too…”
Once Liu Feixu left, Chen Chu was surrounded by a group of classmates, each one volunteering to accompany him to greet the freshmen.
Not to mention that just by taking a trip, they’d earn 1 contribution point, which was like free rewards, and they could show off in front of those new students. Just thinking about it made them excited.
Cough!
Chen Chu cleared his throat, “Brothers, this task only offers 5 contribution points; it’s not enough to share.”
“No problem, we don’t need contribution points.”
“Me neither.”
“We mainly want to show off…no, I mean to share our experiences on how to hunt blood disciples with the new students.”
