Chapter 63: Information Wall
By the time Chen Chu returned with the corpse of the cultist, the battle had already concluded.
Most of the hundred or so rebels had been killed, with more than a dozen surrendering. The soldiers who had led Chen Chu and the others were busy cleaning up the battlefield and collecting weapons and ammunition.
The new students who had participated in the fight were excitedly chatting, each boasting about how brave and impressive they had been in battle. Some even took out their phones to take selfies while holding rocket launchers.
Even Xia Youhui stood in front of a burning, deformed off-road vehicle, striking a pose as if he were holding a thick shield, asking his classmates to take pictures of him.
Of course, not everyone came out unscathed. For instance, a student who had been hit by shrapnel lay on a stretcher, screaming in agony, though he still sounded quite vigorous.
With a body quality six to seven times that of an ordinary person, coupled with full-body armor, he had only been slightly injured by the blast of a small grenade.
A few other students also had minor injuries; some had light armor pierced by bullets, with the bullets embedding themselves halfway into their muscles due to interception by special steel wires.
In addition, some new students had already taken off their helmets, their faces pale as they leaned against the wall gasping for breath.
During the tense moments before, they had managed to hold it together, but now that the battle was over, these boys, who had seen blood for the first time, were immediately overwhelmed by the brutality of the battlefield.
Looking at the severed limbs and mangled corpses, some students who couldn’t handle the sight even began to vomit.
In fact, it wasn’t just them—the seemingly excited new students were actually quite nervous as well, just venting their emotions in another way, including Xia Youhui.
After all, they were still just boys, and to see such bloody scenes on their first time in battle was shocking.
Even Chen Chu felt a bit uneasy as he exited the cold and calm state he had while hunting heavy armored beasts, taking in the sight of the dismembered bodies.
As he walked over, holding a knife in one hand and the cultist's corpse in the other, the other students finally reacted.
Yuan Chenghuang looked frustrated: "Damn, how did I forget about this?"
Li Meng also looked regretful: "Yeah, I was so caught up in the killing that I forgot about the contribution points for killing these cultists."
"That was a miscalculation," Liu Feng shook his head.
Xia Youhui leaned in curiously: "I saw you running to the back earlier, so I knew what you were up to. How was it, A Chu? How strong was that cultist?"
Chen Chu nodded: "About what the teachers said, their strength is weaker than their realm."
"For instance, this one's realm is equivalent to the peak of double heaven, but his basic physique is only at the limit of first level of heaven, and his blood-colored true power is lacking in density."
"So weak," Xia Youhui said, somewhat surprised.
While Chen Chu spoke, Li Hao, who was carrying a pillar, also walked over with heavy steps, saying in a deep voice: "Because these cultists are products of external force training, it’s normal for them to be weak."
"External force?" Chen Chu turned to look at him.
Li Hao nodded: "It's similar to the empowerment in Buddhist scriptures, where stronger fanatics use secret methods to enhance them. The process is painful, and the success rate is low."
"Most of those low-level cultists come from this method..."
The classification of these cultists is simple; those below three heavens are ordinary cultists, while those at four to six heavens are called fanatics.
As for those above seven heavens, they are bishops responsible for managing the followers below them.
While Chen Chu and the others were discussing this, Pang Long and the other two returned with the squad leader, all looking a bit disheveled.
There was no choice; those high-level fanatics were too insane, and two of them at the initial stage of five heavens had almost injured them with their self-destruction, but thankfully they had been prepared.
