CHAPTER: Overwhelming Power, the Descent of the Supreme God
Under the fading glow of the blue sun, the domain of the cult of the giant god has turned into a wasteland.
Mountains have collapsed, the earth has caved in, and numerous craters spanning several kilometers dot the landscape. Everything within a radius of several dozen kilometers has been obliterated by shockwaves, flames raging and lava flowing.
Amidst the fiery chaos above the now-ruined City of the Giant God, Chen Chu slowly emerges, encircled by golden flames, resembling a world-destroying demon god.
Looking at Ji Wuji and Hong Zhen approaching from a distance, Chen Chu calmly says, “Senior Ji, Brother Hong, I must head to the Demon Realm of the cult of the demon god next, so I’ll take my leave now.”
“Earlier, when I destroyed several main cities of the alien races belonging to the cult of the giant god, there were some resources I didn’t have time to collect. If you’re interested, you can go check them out.”
Having said that, with a loud roar, Chen Chu shoots into the sky, breaking the sound barrier at over twenty times the speed of sound, his body generating a blue ion flame tail stretching over a hundred meters long.
Chen Chu’s unrestrained actions inexplicably give off a feeling of arrogance, rampaging and reckless.
After all, under normal circumstances, a powerful being who has stepped into the mythical realm would fly surrounded by laws, eliminating air resistance, or directly distort space to leap.
Watching the golden light that vanishes into the horizon, Hong Zhen suddenly smiles bitterly: “It feels both lucky and unfortunate to be born in the same era as him.”
“An invincible combat power capable of crossing a major realm after reaching the mythical realm, and an incredibly terrifying cultivation speed, makes it feel despairing for the geniuses of his generation.”
Ji Wuji deeply agrees, nodding his head in lament: “It indeed feels a bit desperate.”
Before he met Chen Chu, he was the top genius of the military secret weapon academy, breaking through to the seventh level of heaven in his second year with a perfect integration with advanced techniques.
Even after spending half a year creating a self-created secret classic and condensing the true martial shadow, he reached the pinnacle of the seventh level of heaven in his senior year, a prodigious talent.
With his innate awakening talent that was supposedly a notch stronger than that of the innate awakened ones, he should have shone brilliantly in the upcoming void ruins, overwhelming all the younger generation.
But who could have predicted that a monster would emerge, breaking through to the seventh level of heaven in his freshman year.
Moreover, upon entering the ruins, he displayed terrifying combat power and endurance, slaughtering over a hundred thousand high-level and advanced void monsters in just ten days, pressing down on all the youth of his generation.
Due to the gains from the ruins, just a few days after the path to ascendancy ended, he smoothly broke through to the eighth level of heaven.
But before he could even bask in that glory, Chen Chu, who only a little over ten days ago had been at the initial stage of the seventh level of heaven, also broke through to the eighth level, condensing the four-level world with earth-shattering force.
Now, over two months have passed, and while Ji Wuji has just broken through to the mid-stage of the eighth level of heaven, Chen Chu has already ascended to the mythical king, subduing several evil gods and demon kings, shattering an entire divine realm.
Such terrifying achievements and heaven-defying feats have left even him, a proud genius, feeling hopeless.
In this era of great strife, the emergence of such an astonishing prodigy is both a blessing and a curse for them.
The fortunate part is that due to his overwhelming brilliance, all hope and pressure are borne by him alone, allowing other young geniuses to cultivate and grow more easily.
The unfortunate part is that with his existence, other geniuses who originally needed enough pressure to break through their limits will see a decline in their future achievements without external pressure.
