CHAPTER 28: Upper Limit of Sixth Level of Heaven
"The difference between advanced and basic techniques."
On Tuesday morning, during the break, Chen Chu and Xia Youhui were relaxing in the stairwell, and Chen Chu immediately brought up this topic.
After deciding to participate in the ranking competition, Chen Chu wanted to first understand the basic information about his opponents.
For example, what are the differences between advanced and basic techniques? Chen Chu had searched for this information online, but strangely enough, he couldn't find anything; it seemed to be intentionally blocked by the authorities.
Xia Youhui thought for a moment and said, “The first difference is the upper limit. Advanced techniques can be cultivated up to the sixth level of heaven, while basic techniques can only reach the third level.”
As soon as he finished speaking, Chen Chu asked with confusion, “So advanced techniques can only be cultivated up to the sixth level? I thought the martial arts realm has nine levels?”
Chen Chu had always believed that advanced techniques could reach the ninth level of heaven.
Xia Youhui shook his head, “There are indeed techniques that can be cultivated to the ninth level, but they belong to the top secret transmissions. They not only require high talent but are also very precious.”
“You have to know that decades ago, there were no cultivation techniques at all. Everyone was exploring on their own, and due to various other reasons, the world was very chaotic.”
“Later, as more people ventured out, paths began to emerge, and gradually the basic forms of techniques were created, followed by continuous refinement of concepts, realms, and levels.”
“So don’t be deceived into thinking that your dragon elephant skill, which can only be cultivated to the third level, is insignificant. If it had been in the earliest days, many people would have fought fiercely over it.”
“Also, while the upper limit for basic techniques is only the third level, that doesn’t mean you can’t break through to the fourth level; you just have to derive your own techniques after that.”
“I see.” Chen Chu nodded.
Xia Youhui continued, “Even now, you can only easily obtain complete techniques at school; it’s very difficult to cultivate outside.”
“Although there are martial arts schools in big cities, they charge exorbitant fees, and the transmission of techniques is very limited. Most of the techniques are basic.”
“For instance, the advanced technique I cultivate requires a tuition fee of at least a hundred thousand if I want to learn at those high-end martial arts schools, and they only teach one layer at a time.”
“A hundred thousand for just one layer? You ‘genius’ students…” Chen Chu blinked and suddenly realized a way to get rich.
You should know that at least a hundred people in the school are cultivating advanced techniques.
“I know what you’re thinking, but I advise you not to. Do you think the agreement you signed earlier was what you think it is?” Xia Youhui rolled his eyes.
“Also, we freshmen can only learn the first three layers of advanced techniques; the subsequent techniques require contribution points to exchange.”
“In addition, each advanced technique has its own characteristics that are easy to identify, and if anyone dares to transmit them privately, it will be easily discovered.”
“When that happens, it’ll be a matter of tracing back, and once caught, the consequences are severe. So no one would risk it for that little money.”
“Moreover, a hundred thousand for one layer is the legitimate learning fee, but in secret, they're not worth that much; after all, both buyers and sellers face significant risks.”
“Thus, wealthy and powerful individuals don't need to buy them; they can obtain them through other proper channels, while those without money can't afford them.”
At this point, Xia Youhui shrugged, “Besides, advanced techniques aren’t as important as you think. The true core of the three major alliances is the monopoly on resources, top techniques, and secret classics.”
