Chapter 250: Yesterday's Cause (Two-in-One Chapter)
Liu Yu had consumed the Dragon Blood Fruit, which had slightly strengthened his body, and even he showed such a reaction; naturally, the others fared even worse.
"Cough, cough, cough," Cui Liang let out several heavy coughs. If he hadn't had an empty stomach, he might have truly vomited.
The other three cultivators also swayed unsteadily, not performing much better.
However, they were ultimately foundation establishment stage cultivators, with strong recovery abilities. After Liu Yu suppressed their discomfort, the others soon returned to normal.
"Senior Brother Cui, let's go," Liu Yu said as he stepped out of the teleportation array, addressing Cui Liang, who was still inside the array.
Such an important place as the teleportation hall could not be without cultivators managing it.
On the surface, there were only a few foundation establishment cultivators, but his keen spiritual perception faintly sensed the presence of a Golden Core Elder in the back hall.
After registering at the teleportation hall together with Cui Liang, the two exited without any obstruction, arriving at Qingtai Peak.
The familiar scenery came into view; in the distance lay the majestic spiritual mountain, its peaks shrouded in mist, obscuring its original appearance. Rare treasures and exotic beasts frolicked and leapt in the forests, while cranes gracefully flapped their wings in the air. Occasionally, escape lights streaked across the mountains, rising and disappearing.
After nearly twenty cycles of seasons, returning to the sect brought about different feelings for the two.
"We're back," Liu Yu said, feeling a sudden lightness in his heart as he sensed the more abundant spiritual energy in the air compared to the southern border, a faint smile appearing on his lips.
Cui Liang felt an even stronger sense of surviving a disaster, finally ending his days of uncertainty on the battlefield, his grin radiant.
He secretly vowed to repay the sect in other ways, promising never to place himself in dangerous situations again.
After a moment, the two exchanged glances and nodded at each other before turning into two streaks of light—one black and one yellow—soaring into the mountains of the Yuan Yang Sect.
The straight-line distance between Qingtai Peak and Qingyun Peak was about four hundred miles. With the escape speed of a foundation establishment early stage cultivator, it only took a little over an hour.
An hour later, Liu Yu and Cui Liang landed their escape lights on the mountainside of Qingyun Peak and walked directly up the mountain, soon arriving at the main hall of the sect.
The disciples stationed there were no longer the familiar faces from years ago, but rather a group of unfamiliar disciples.
"Is the sect leader in the hall?"
Before Liu Yu could speak, Cui Liang asked the disciple guarding the right entrance.
It seemed he was a bit impatient, eager to return and "affectionately" reunite with his several concubines, as he had previously mentioned.
"Disciple greets the two Shishu!"
"Returning to Shushu, the sect leader is handling sect affairs in the back hall."
After Cui Liang presented the sect token, the qi refining disciples did not dare to neglect the two and hurriedly bowed. The questioned disciple then answered truthfully.
"Mm."
"Junior Brother Liu, let's go in," Cui Liang said, showing great politeness to Liu Yu, yet displaying an arrogant attitude toward the qi refining disciples.
This was quite normal in the cultivation world. Liu Yu found it nothing surprising and nodded as they walked into the hall.
The disciples guarding the main hall of the sect bowed respectfully, watching the two leave before whispering among themselves, speculating about the origins of the two Shishu.
After presenting the sect token, they proceeded without obstruction. The qi refining disciples did not dare to stop them, and upon entering the back hall of the sect, they were reported by the guarding disciples before stepping inside.
