Chapter 6: Kamushin the Slave 🗝️

Published: January 12, 2026

Though it was unexpected, I ended up buying a slave. I feel like I’ve become quite the useless person.

But for now, that’s fine.

“All right. Since I caused you some trouble, I’ll buy clothes and daily necessities for Kamushin.”

When I said that, Rosalie smiled happily.

“Well, thank you very much! Then I’ll pick out some good things. Come on, Kamushin. Let’s find clothes that fit you, so come with me. Ah, first, the slave contract…”

Rosalie efficiently got Kamushin up and moving, and finally, she said something as she took both my hand and Kamushin’s at the same time.

Immediately, I felt something softly surge through my body, and then I saw a gentle light spreading over my palm.

The light gathered on the back of my hand, moving as if drawing some kind of characters. Then, a mark of a winged horse appeared on the back of my hand.

“…This?”

I murmured, and Rosalie opened her mouth proudly.

“That’s the mark of the slave contract. I am a contract magician, you see. Oh, and for this time, the contract fee will be waived. Since it’s your first visit.”

Rosalie said this with a confident air. Honestly, I hadn’t planned on signing a contract. Well, it’s fine, I guess.

“Thank you.”

I smiled and expressed my gratitude, which made Rosalie suddenly look startled and bow her head.

“Oh, I apologize! Now then, please come this way! I will guide you!”

Remembering that I was from the marquis family, Rosalie suddenly became very formal and started showing us around. I followed behind her, laughing.

“This is where we have food and seasonings. Over there are daily necessities. We also have dishes and sundries. Ah, shall we start by choosing Kamushin’s clothes?”

“Yes, that sounds good.”

“Then, this way!”

The place she guided us to had many kinds of clothing hanging up. There were Western-style clothes, some that looked like ethnic outfits, and even some that looked like just pieces of cloth with holes cut in them.

“For slaves, these are typical choices. One piece costs one copper coin. Clothes with intricate sewing and good fabric range from one to five silver coins.”

Rosalie explained.

From what I saw in the food section, one copper coin was probably about a thousand yen. One silver coin seemed to be about ten thousand yen. That would make Kamushin’s clothes around five hundred thousand yen? Or maybe not.

I pondered the value of the money as I looked at the clothes.

“This style is good. If he’s going to stand alongside Til, clothes like this wouldn’t look strange.”

I pointed to a set of clothes, and Rosalie gave a troubled smile.

“Ah, well, these are made of good fabric and cost three silver coins…”

She glanced at Til while saying this. When I looked over, Til puffed out her ample chest proudly.

“Leave it to me. Here’s Lord Van’s money.”

Til pushed my money forward as if it were hers. I laughed and took it, pulling out the coins I needed.

“Also, a few undergarments and shoes, I suppose.”

“Thank you very much! In that case, we have some good shoes that would match the clothes!”

And so, my first day out turned into an unexpectedly fun shopping trip for a slave’s clothes and other items.

“Um, Lord Van. Deputy Commander Dee has been looking for you…”

Kamushin, dressed in a black butler-like suit, said this cautiously. I handed him a cookie.

“Tell her I’m not here with this.”

Kamushin frowned with his now clean and simple face. After properly washing his dirty hair and body, a skinny boy with deep blue hair emerged. It was annoying how well formal clothes suited him.

“Well, she probably knows already…”

Despite saying that, Kamushin took the cookie and ate it on the spot before leaving the room.

“Um, Lord Van doesn’t seem to be here.”

I could faintly hear Kamushin’s voice from outside the room.

“What! But I saw someone enter this room earlier!”

“I looked around, but they weren’t here.”

“Hmph! Why do you have crumbs around your mouth? There weren’t any before!”
