Due to the name overlap with the Third Prince in the comic adaptation, Raizon’s name has been changed!
Panamera was openly delighted, but many of the city administrators, including Thomas and others, gave skeptical looks. Even Bell and Rosalie, both merchants, noticed those gazes.
“Well, I guess you can’t believe it without seeing it yourself,” Bell murmured.
Rosalie chuckled softly, elegantly. This was her refined side.
“Yes, that’s true. Though even if you see it for real, you might still find it hard to believe.”
As the two laughed over their conversation, the administrators all wore puzzled expressions. Only Zetros maintained a poker face, silently resolving to find a way to surprise them.
Panamera smiled, satisfied that the plan was settled, and glanced around at everyone’s faces.
“So the policy is decided, right? First, instruct us on the materials needed. The Fortress City Cayenne’s knight order will handle gathering the materials.”
“Um, we’ll need a large amount of lumber. Most buildings in this city are made of stone, so I don’t think we require much stone. Also, if possible, we’d like some metals like iron, copper, silver, gold, and Mithril.”
Panamera nodded in acknowledgment.
“Alright, understood. I’ll have preparations made. What else do we need?”
“Magicians. Especially earth magicians—we could use as many as possible.”
“Hmm, earth, huh... Bellville, how many capable earth magicians does this city have?”
After hearing the answer, Panamera stroked his own chin thoughtfully and looked at Bellville.
“Only one. An intermediate-level magician.”
“Summon them.”
“Yes, sir!”
Every time Panamera was asked a question and gave a response, he immediately took action and issued orders to his subordinates. The conversation progressed so quickly and efficiently that a wave of anxiety suddenly swept over me.
Wait—could it be that they intend to start construction today? I just arrived in the city a short while ago...
While pondering this, Panamera noticed the expression on my face and smiled gently.
“Ah, you must be tired from the long journey. My apologies.”
“Oh, no, no. I’m just looking forward to a delicious meal.”
“Ha ha ha! We’ve already prepared it. I’ll have it made right away.”
“Yay!”
I was genuinely happy to be able to enjoy a delicious meal from the former Yelinetta Kingdom. Then Panamera spoke with an apologetic tone.
“...However, unfortunately, there aren’t enough facilities for everyone to stay overnight. If Viscount Van could renovate the barracks or this castle, everyone could rest properly after the long journey, but alas.”
Panamera wore an expression of disappointment I had never seen before. It was so exaggerated it seemed staged.
“I understand. Then, let’s start by slightly renovating the barracks. We’ll renovate the castle if possible.”
“Oh, that would be a great help!”
“Also, please provide precious ores and spices. Oh, Black Orbs would be fine too.”
Panamera nodded happily in response.
Leading everyone on in high spirits, Panamera walked ahead, followed closely by Van-kun and his group. Zetros and the others walked at the rear. Ort and the adventurers, as well as the Seato knight order, waited within the main street. While Ort and the others weren’t especially surprised—they had traveled around various places—the Seato knights looked at the streets with curiosity. Most of them were ordinary villagers or from slave backgrounds, so this was likely their first time seeing a city from another country. Incidentally, this was my first time as well, and I was suppressing my desire to casually explore the streets.
“This is the barracks.”
“Ah, it really looks like a barracks.”
Panamera stopped roughly halfway between Cayenne Castle and the city gate, pointing at a large building. It was a plain, square structure with no decorations. It had two floors, and the roof was accessible.
“It’s built long from front to back. About a hundred people stay here. There’s also a training ground behind it, but it’s not very large.”
