"Hehe, have you thought about it? A Level Two professional's muscle defense is even better than that of a bulletproof vest, not to mention protective clothing! How could a guy like this, meant to deal with criminals, possibly take down a Level Two professional? Do you really think professionals are made of mud?"

Sun Aotian fell silent, unable to muster a response.

"What about the living ones?" Wen Yu asked Sun Aotian.

Sun Aotian pointed to the room across from them and replied, "All inside, along with three pale-faced guys. I didn’t search the rest of the place in detail!"

Wen Yu nodded.

"Old Sun, go check if there are any survivors or stragglers."

Sun Ruixing had just finished extracting the bullets from Sun Aotian and promptly took out his weapon, heading upstairs.

"People inside, come out. I have a few questions for you."

Wen Yu's calm voice echoed.

Then, a shout came from inside.

"If you dare, come in! I still have..."

Then the sound of a steel blade entering flesh followed.

"You, you..."

"Yes, it's me! Hurry up and die, bastard!"

After a commotion inside, it quickly calmed down.

The door opened, and a figure stepped out.

Wen Yu directly sat at the large table in the room and asked, "What happened?"

"Hehe, just bad luck. I’ve really messed up this time, completely!"

The one speaking was Li Quan'an.

Wen Yu tossed Li Quan'an a cigarette and looked at his pale face and the grenade in his hand.

"Talk. What’s going on? How did it come to this?"

"Got a light?"

Lighting the cigarette, the faint smoke lingered in the room as Li Quan'an slowly recounted the story of the cannibals.

"These people used to be in Chaihe Town; their camp was near the town government."

"Then, the corpse king appeared, driving them out. They escaped into a cellar. It was supposed to be a planned escape route, but some changes occurred!"

"It was blocked by a mutated bear, right?"

Li Quan'an looked at Wen Yu in surprise, "How did you know?"

"I sent One-Eye to take a look, but the clues from these people stopped here. One-Eye couldn’t scent them."

Li Quan'an forced a smile and explained, "It’s not surprising One-Eye can’t smell them. Why don’t you let One-Eye sniff the scent on me?"

Seeing Wen Yu's expression, One-Eye stepped forward and sniffed Li Quan'an's scent vigorously.

After sniffing for about ten seconds, One-Eye curiously shook his head at Wen Yu.

One-Eye didn’t scent anything; these cannibals had no smell!

This surprised Wen Yu: "No smell? No wonder One-Eye couldn't track them! This is a good thing?"

There are many things that can mask a scent, but they usually have a time limit. To permanently conceal one's scent would require at least a C-level skill!

"If that were all, it would indeed be a good thing! But the downsides of becoming a cannibal are much greater!"

Seeing Wen Yu nodding thoughtfully, Li Quan'an directly shared the tragedy of the cannibals.

"I led people out of the camp, attracted by a beam of light, and only realized afterward that these people were cannibals!"

"But our strength didn’t allow us to resist; two of my subordinates were devoured directly by them."

"Then they gave me a choice: eat people, or be eaten!"

"Was there even a choice?"

Li Quan'an's question left Wen Yu silent.

Slowly shaking his head, Wen Yu revealed his answer: "No, you did nothing wrong!"

"Haha."

Li Quan'an let out a bitter laugh and spoke again, "At first I hesitated; after all, they were my subordinates. But then I thought, they're already dead, what’s the difference if I eat a piece of their flesh?"

Li Quan'an's tone grew more sinister.

"That was raw meat! Just cut off their bodies!"

"It was disgusting at first, slightly warm, and a bit slippery! The bloody smell was intense; to be honest, the first piece of meat I swallowed down was forced! Especially seeing their corpses lying right in front of me, I almost broke down!"

"But I had no choice; I swallowed the first piece, and then they gave me a second!"

"Once humans do something that breaks their moral bottom line, they lose their bottom line entirely!"
