Amidst the rolling heat waves, Tang Haofei looked around, trying to find traces of the earth's will, but he was disappointed.
Everything here was just as he remembered.
"Are you sure this is the place?"
In response to Tang Haofei's question, the celestial god simply shook his head, signaling him to wait a moment.
About ten minutes later, just as Tang Haofei was growing impatient, the ground suddenly began to tremble slightly.
This tremor was extremely faint; even with Tang Haofei's abilities, he could only vaguely perceive it, let alone the others—who remained quietly observing.
As the trembling continued, and the ground slowly released specks of white light, the celestial god’s eyes lit up, and he said to Tang Haofei, "It’s here."
Then, Tang Haofei watched as the white light on the ground continuously condensed, eventually forming a small sphere radiating white light.
It looked exactly like the sphere from his memories; with just one glance, Tang Haofei knew its purpose— the second memory sphere. At the same time, an incredibly familiar aura made it clear to Tang Haofei who had created this object.
At this moment, Tang Haofei had no doubt left in his heart—this was the work of the earth's will.
A voice suddenly echoed nearby, unidentifiable as male or female.
"My child..."
The voice was deep and ethereal, yet it contained another kind of soul capture and spirit snatching magic. Under the influence of the voice, Tang Haofei instinctively grabbed the memory sphere that appeared on the ground, and then everything in front of him began to blur.
...
This experience was exactly like the last time; his soul left his body and was then pulled into a strange illusion.
Knowing well what was happening, Tang Haofei did not feel surprised; he simply waited silently. After a while, when light and shadow appeared before him, Tang Haofei quickly focused his attention and scanned his surroundings.
What he saw was a scene of devastation, broken walls and collapsed structures...
The sorrowful wind howled, and the entire land seemed to have lost its vitality. The distant mountains appeared to have been gnawed half away by dogs, and apart from Tang Haofei himself, there was no one around.
The air was filled with an extremely strong stench of decay; even Tang Haofei felt a bit uncomfortable—perhaps it was simply due to the owner's low strength of this body.
In short, Tang Haofei understood the awkwardness of the situation in this illusion without needing any narration.
This was Earth, the Earth on the brink of destruction.
Old Tang slowly bent down and scooped up a handful of sand from the ground. The sand flowed through his fingers, lacking many essential elements that nurture life...
Microorganisms, rare elements, nutrients... none of these were present. This sand was merely plain sand.
"Ha..."
Tang Haofei exhaled a breath of pent-up air, looking up at the sky. It was as if he was speaking to himself, "So, what do you want me to see this time..."
No one responded to Tang Haofei's question, until suddenly the sky above him split open, and a hazy black shadow appeared at the horizon.
"Die!"
A powerful, grand tone echoed through the sky, and then the shadow raised its right hand, and a grayish light erupted from its fingertips.
The light shot out, striking the ground not far in front of Tang Haofei. Watching the gray light pierce through the surface, Tang Haofei merely squinted his eyes and carefully observed the figure at the horizon.
That was Wen Yu... well, it wasn't just because of his appearance; a small part was due to some kind of vague perception, but mostly it was because of Wen Yu's voice.
There was not a hint of difference from his impression...
A smile slowly formed at the corner of Tang Haofei's mouth, but his gaze became increasingly cold.
It was precisely because of Wen Yu's overwhelming strength that Tang Haofei could feel the power contained in this attack.
This was a height he would never reach even if he were reborn ten times! This was a strike capable of destroying heaven and earth!
