Wen Yu's confident tone made Fran breathe a sigh of relief. Seeing that Wen Yu was determined to follow through on his previous promise, a smile appeared on Fran's wrinkled face.
Times have changed; now, Tang Haofei's second personality held the upper hand. The military couldn't determine if Wen Yu's self-serving nature would lead him to offend the powerful and victorious Tang Haofei II for a vague human favor.
It seemed that the military was indeed "measuring a gentleman's heart with a villain's mind."
Fran watched as Wen Yu stored the Sleep Spell into the Spatial Ring, recalling the plan he had set with Lin Haifeng and Tang Haofei. He began to tell Wen Yu about the detailed steps of their plan.
Wen Yu listened and took notes. It wasn't until thirty minutes later that Fran finally finished describing the entire plan. Wen Yu was astonished by the thoroughness of the military's plan but also deeply felt that Tang Haofei's situation was indeed dangerous.
If there were even a slight chance for Tang Haofei to resolve the costs of his power, the military would not resort to such a self-destructive plan!
"That's the general plan," Fran said, his face weary. Although talking for thirty minutes didn't consume much energy, thinking about Tang Haofei's situation left Fran feeling exhausted.
A cup of hot tea was thoughtfully handed to Fran. When he looked up, he saw Wen Yu's smiling face. "Have some water."
Fran smiled and shook his head, taking the cup and sipping gently. The tea wasn't particularly good, but it warmed his heart.
"If that guy Tang Er were more like you..." Fran's words made Wen Yu chuckle awkwardly. "Is it really that bad? You're actually wishing for Tang Haofei's character to become like mine... then who would be your guardian?"
"You don't need a guardian. Aren't you doing well? You effortlessly resolved the African war zone. Although you're not part of the military, your influence within is substantial. We all recognize your contributions to the human race!"
This was somewhat akin to "even if the brother isn't in the martial world, his legend lives on."
Wen Yu felt a bit embarrassed—although taking down the African war zone wasn't a given, it had many benefits. He did it entirely for his own strength, but it was undeniable that the impact on the entire world was immense.
Perhaps outside, there were already a large group of "Second Sequence worshippers," and it was even possible that Wen Yu might gain the title of "guardian of the human race"...
As he pondered these chaotic thoughts, after finishing tea with Fran, Wen Yu decisively pulled out a large stack of technology materials and Job Change Scrolls from the Spatial Ring and handed them to Fran.
Wen Yu didn't calculate the exact value, but it was slightly higher than the two scrolls Fran had brought. However, he felt indifferent about it. Given his current strength and the future potential of the soul creation technique, the military likely wouldn't have anything that could astonish Wen Yu anymore. As for the technology materials, they would be of no use to him, so there was no need to be stingy.
After dealing with the transaction, Wen Yu chatted with Fran for a while before notifying the mountain puppet to prepare to send him off.
Seeing this, Fran hesitated for a moment but ultimately spoke about his last task for this trip.
"Uh, Wen Yu, Tang Haofei wants to see you, and we don't know how to brush him off."
"En?"
Wen Yu immediately looked up at Fran.
"Not knowing how to brush him off... what does that mean?"
"Ah..."
Fran sighed. "He’s adamant about wanting to see you. You know, aside from a few people, the military doesn’t know what has happened to Tang Haofei. He’s assigned the task of finding you to Qin Min, just because he finds it troublesome. Qin Min might stall for a few days, but once Tang Haofei decides to take matters into his own hands... The military’s internal intelligence system has a record of your location, and the lower ranks won’t refuse Tang Haofei’s orders."
