Doomsday Summoning Frenzy

Chapter 70: Survivor 🛡️

Published: January 31, 2025

Wen Yu breathed in the fresh air forcefully and casually took out a pack of cigarettes from his Spatial Ring.

Cigarettes were a good thing; after lighting one, he took a deep drag, feeling the burn of the smoke in his lungs. Satisfied, Wen Yu exhaled a puff of smoke.

"Let's wait a bit longer; someone should be able to make it out."

Although what Wen Yu was doing wasn't very righteous, that didn't stop him from waiting in a safe spot for them. He owed Li Quan'an a favor; not helping this time didn't mean there wouldn't be a next time.

Of course, if Li Quan'an ended up dead, then Wen Yu couldn't be blamed for not keeping his promise.

The one-eyed creature lay at Wen Yu’s feet, and in a non-combat situation, its rapid healing activated. The shallow wounds on its body healed quickly, and within a minute, it was almost fully recovered.

Just as Wen Yu was leisurely enjoying the warm sunlight, he heard a commotion not far away.

"Big boss, there are living people coming out from the pile of plants."

A weak voice rang out, captured clearly by Wen Yu in the face of his overwhelming strength.

Ignoring the unknown humans, Wen Yu cast a casual glance at the bushes in the distance and then shifted his gaze back to the mutated vines.

"What an idiot, someone else has already heard it. Let’s go out and take a look."

Another voice chimed in, followed by rustling sounds coming from the bushes. A few humans in tattered protective suits emerged one after another.

Before these people could approach, an arrogant voice called out.

"Survivors ahead, listen up! You've entered Chaihe Town's territory, which is currently managed by Brother Fei. Be smart and hand over your protective suits, steel knives, and all the food you have, then come back to camp and do manual labor. My brothers will even provide you with a meal."

Wen Yu glanced dismissively at the few survivors in front of him and let out a cold snort.

Though he didn’t know the situation in Chaihe Town, it was evident that these few professionals were struggling.

There were a total of six people, but only half of them held steel knives; the others had ordinary items like shovels and broken axes. To be honest, Wen Yu had no idea if such weapons could even hurt him at this point.

Not wanting to get entangled with these weaklings, Wen Yu simply bent down and picked up a small stone from the roadside, then flicked it with his fingers.

The small stone shot out from Wen Yu’s hand at high speed and struck the forehead of the person who had just spoken.

With a "bang," the speaker felt a tremendous force explode from his forehead, and he could even see the dust from the stone's impact with his wide-open eyes.

"Ugh." The man looked at his dazed companions and then at Wen Yu, who was teasing them from a distance. Without saying a word, he fainted.

"Damn it." The leading professional cursed angrily when he saw his teammate collapse to the ground.

"Now that the situation is better, he's acting cool; when it gets tough, he just pretends to faint. This kid really knows how to play."

Kicking the person lying on the ground, the leader noted the lack of any response from the fainted man and felt uncertain.

He turned his head to look at Wen Yu in the distance, and his heart sank.

Wen Yu’s protective suit had some noticeable differences compared to theirs.

"Level two, this is a big trouble."

"Level two? Big boss, you're not mistaken, are you?"

"Oh man, isn’t that on the same level as Little Brother Tian? We can't mess with him. What do we do now?"

The leading professional had a face full of uncertainty, thinking for a long while before cupping his hands towards Wen Yu in the distance: "Big brother, something happened at home, so we have to leave."

Without waiting for his teammates to respond, he turned to dash into the bushes.

"Cough cough." Wen Yu laughed at these fools and even choked on his smoke when he saw them trying to run away, disregarding even the teammate lying on the ground.

Wen Yu immediately shouted, "Stop, come back, I have some questions for you!"
