Wen Yu carefully experienced the powerful strength brought to him by being a soul master and turned to look at the floating soul beast on his shoulder.
"This profession is great in every way, but this soul beast is too conspicuous; once seen, it'll never be forgotten. I won’t be able to hide my identity at all in the future."
The little soul beast, round and chubby, slightly smaller than a ping-pong ball, trembled continuously. Seeing its master observing it, it affectionately rubbed against Wen Yu's cheek, giving a pleasantly cool sensation.
Wen Yu smiled slightly; this little creature would be his lifelong companion. The interaction just now allowed the little soul beast to clearly convey its feelings of joy and curiosity, making Wen Yu understand that this little thing was not an inanimate object but a living being with its own thoughts.
The exit of the treasure land had opened the moment the treasure chest was unsealed. Seeing the human-sized silver vortex, Wen Yu narrowed his eyes, recalling the Cyclops that had forcibly brought him here.
To be honest, Wen Yu was very grateful to that Cyclops. Without that creature, he would have likely switched to being a warrior and missed out on such a perfect profession.
"What can I do to thank you? Hmm, I suppose I'll just let you head to hell at the fastest speed possible." Wen Yu thought to himself.
Looking at the silver vortex before him, outside, a beast might be lurking in the grass. However, Wen Yu understood very well that a mutated dog could no longer stop him.
His future lay far away, across the entire world.
So, how high could he reach in this world, and what kind of role could he play?
"Really, I can't wait."
...
At this moment, it had only been 20 minutes since Wen Yu entered the treasure land.
Outside, in the convenience store of the community where Wen Yu lived, the Cyclops looked curiously at the silver vortex before it.
Its not-so-low intelligence told it that just moments ago, the food it was about to devour—its old neighbor—had been sucked into the silver vortex and disappeared without a trace.
The facts stood before the Cyclops: this strange vortex was the culprit competing with it for prey.
The only remaining eye of the Cyclops fixed intently on the silver vortex, slowly moving forward. This posture was a precursor to the Cyclops launching an attack.
However, despair slowly crept in for the Cyclops. No matter how it moved, the "enemy" before it showed no signs of weakness.
The Cyclops even suspected that this creature might be stronger than itself.
Deciding not to wait any longer, the Cyclops swiftly pounced on the silver vortex. It let out a yelp of pain and quickly retreated.
There were no wounds on its body, but at the moment the Cyclops made contact with the entrance to the treasure land, it was suddenly struck by a burst of silver light that penetrated deep into its body.
This was the punishment from the treasure land for non-human creatures that touched it—a soul attack that caused intense pain but no actual injury.
The Cyclops didn't dare to move recklessly anymore. The attack had reminded it of long-lost pain; it hadn't felt such intense suffering since humans had blinded it in one eye.
Naturally, the Cyclops didn't know that the thing before it was called a treasure land.
And a treasure land was certainly not something mutated creatures could attack.
Just as the Cyclops was contemplating whether to abandon the human inside and leave, the vortex suddenly underwent a change.
The continuously spinning silver vortex gradually ceased its rotation, and the gentle silver light began to fade. The vortex, initially the size of a fist, continued to shrink.
Then, when it shrank to the size of a pinky finger, the vortex suddenly burst open, emitting a dazzling silver light.
The Cyclops' only eye was nearly blinded by the flash, and it turned its head in shock, shaking its large dog head to mitigate the effects of the sudden brightness.
"Wow, now I finally have time to properly examine you. It’s been a while since I last saw you, and you've gotten uglier, you beast."
