Doomsday Summoning Frenzy

Chapter 583: Research đź“š

“Wow, you guys really know how to play…” The Heaven-Piercing Demon Vine silently mocked in Wen Yu's mind.

However, Wen Yu was very satisfied with the performance of the three spirit pets. Finding weaknesses, seizing those weaknesses, and using the opponent's vulnerabilities to crush them with the quickest and least damaging method is what true combat is all about. As for how good it looks… Hehe, what does it matter how a fight looks?

Seeing the Laughing Monk running around chaotically ahead, while Xing and the One-Eyed occasionally released a breath of dragon flame or dark flame, and Victor's Netherworld was continuously activated, Wen Yu yawned out of boredom.

At this point, the battle was basically declared over. Once all of the Laughing Monk's skills and cultivation techniques had been tested, and the three spirit pets had grown wary of him, his doom was inevitable!

“Bang!” The Zen Staff collided violently with the Dragon Claw, but the outcome was vastly different from their first clash.

This time, in a direct collision, Xing slapped the Laughing Monk far away with a single blow—after over an hour of attrition, the fighting battle golden body of the Laughing Monk had lost its original luster. Both its appearance and energy response had fallen to a very low level.

In contrast, the three spirit pets had suffered no significant impact on their battle capabilities, other than Victor being a bit fatigued and the One-Eyed having sustained a bit more injury from the rupture armor storm and dragon flame.

At this point in the battle, the winner had already been determined! The giant Buddha, which emitted a dim golden light, slowly shrank. In less than two seconds, it reverted back to the original form of the Laughing Monk, but unlike at the beginning, the Laughing Monk now looked significantly emaciated, resembling a skeleton dressed in monk robes.

This realization struck Wen Yu; the source of these soul combat energies was the residual strength of their physical bodies—this power resides within their flesh and bones.

Seeing the One-Eyed and Xing pounce fiercely, pinning the Laughing Monk down who was trying to get up, and then opening their mouths wide to gnaw at the Laughing Monk's remaining body, Wen Yu slowly called off the two spirit pets and walked forward.

...

The warm smile was long gone; what remained on the Laughing Monk's face was only half of his skin, chewed away by the One-Eyed.

Yet, even so, the Laughing Monk was still able to move, and he was quite strong!

His fists struck Wen Yu like cannonballs, but Wen Yu easily dispersed them using his phasing and Dark World techniques. Seeing that the Laughing Monk on the ground was still attempting to launch an attack, Wen Yu's black light slowly extended, condensing into a pitch-black sword resembling a laser sword, which then flashed with dark light.

The once-dominant super powerhouse of the Fourth Layer of the Heavenly Palace, the Laughing Monk, was thus reduced to a mere human stick by Wen Yu.

Watching the Laughing Monk still trying to twist his body on the ground, Wen Yu expressionlessly picked up the Laughing Monk's severed limbs and threw them to the One-Eyed in the distance.

The rule of the winner takes all is a fundamental principle in any world, and Wen Yu and the One-Eyed's feast would ensure that any opponent would be perfectly digested, from flesh to soul!

...

The One-Eyed quickly swallowed the Laughing Monk's limbs into its stomach.

Given the Laughing Monk's strength, even if the nutrients in his flesh had been mostly squandered, there would still be a substantial amount of energy contained within his bones.

This was undoubtedly a great supplement for the One-Eyed's feast, and Wen Yu could not afford to give it up!

After completing this, Wen Yu then patted his right hand.

“It’s done. What should we do next?”

“Watch me.”

After the Heaven-Piercing Demon Vine said this, it ignored the Laughing Monk's tragic state and felt no sadness like that of a fox mourning for a dead hare. Its branches extended from Wen Yu's right hand and, like lightning, pierced into the Laughing Monk's remains.
